Gene Simmons Opens Up, Breaks Down About Immigrating to U.S. (Video)
KISS bassist Gene Simmons moved to the United States from Israel as a young boy with his mother. In this video clip from the show Shatner’s Raw Nerve, hosted by William Shatner, Gene opens up and breaks down near the end describing the joys he and his mother, as Jewish immigrants, had upon entering the United States and becoming citizens.
It’s a great clip, and the seasoned rocker, shows how emotional it was for his mom, when she realized she didn’t have to Heil Hitler any more.

This just shows what a great man Gene is, that he respects the freedom America gave to him, and to his beloved Mother, and this does not surprise me about him. I respect him & his incredible career, family & business savvy. He is one of the few rockers that never fell into a haze of alcohol & drug abuse even being in that atmosphere since being a teen. Women, yes, but there again, does not have a string of women left behind with a flock of kids he produced because he was in enough control to not let that happen either. It seems everything Gene touches turns to gold somehow, because underneath the Demon persona is a real, intelligent & decent man, who takes nothing for granted. And who, by the way, can still blow your socks off at concerts!! I can attest to that having seen their spectacular show on Halloween night last year in New Orleans at Voodoo fest.
Love ya Gene!!
