Nick Loeb, boyfriend of ABC‘s Modern Family star Sofia Vergara, has been placed in the intensive care unit following a car crash yesterday afternoon. Paramedics rushed to the scene around 4:30pm where Nick was found with “a severely broken leg and deep gash across his chest.” Loeb was then rushed to a local hospital in Bel Air, California.

Vergara, 38, began seeing Loeb, 35, earlier this year. He is currently pursuing television production in Los Angeles, after being involved in Florida politics. Vergara was nominated for an Emmy earlier this year for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
