Golfer Tiger Woods had a chance to react to his ex-wife Elin Nordegreen’s statements in her first and only interview published on People Magazine during a press conference at The Barclays golf tournament in New Jersey on Wednesday (August 24).

Tiger looked very cool and detached when he admitted that his mistakes cost him an apparently happy marriage. “My actions certainly led us to this decision [the divorce],” he said. “And I’ve certainly made a lot of errors in my life and that’s something I’m going to have to live with.”
When asked about Elin’s quotes on how she was hurt by his betrayals and if he still loved her, Tiger quickly answered, “I wish her the best in everything. It’s a sad time in our lives. And we’re looking forward to how we can help our kids the best way we possibly can. And that’s the most important thing.”

Again a reporter insisted on asking him if he still loves Elin, Tiger dodged the question and repeated, “That’s the most important thing.” Whatever he meant, it certainly looked like he was more than ready to let go, but he was not relieved with the split.
“I don’t think that’s the word,” Tiger said. “I think it’s just more sadness. Because I don’t think you ever – you don’t ever go into a marriage looking to get divorced. That’s the thing. That’s why it is sad.”
Tiger and Elin are now officially divorced. It’s not the end of the world. Elin tried what she could to make it work for the sake of their two kids. Tiger had already damaged their marriage beyond repair, we hope Elin found closure today.

It’s sad to see a marriage end in divorce especially when children are involved. This is the the area that must hurt both of them the most. Nobody says they want to raise their kids from a broken home. Think asking him if he still loved his wife was a question that doesn’t need to be replied. He has to heal too.
Can’t help but wonder what women would want to date him now? Minus those that are gold diggers, I’d say zero. He has a long hard road to better himself before someone worthwhile will date him again. But, the guy is one hell of a golfer. He was blessed with a gift, but love may not be a blessing for him.
