Singer Sheryl Crow, 48, is helping to make strides in breast cancer detection. Tuesday, the Sheryl Crow Imaging Center held it’s grand opening in Los Angeles. The center features state-of-the-art digital screening and diagnostic technologies for cancer detection.

The new facility is part of the Pink Lotus Breast Center, the country’s first center dedicated primarily to preventing, detecting, and treating the disease. Crow, who is currently cancer free, fought breast cancer herself after it was detected during a routine mammogram in 2006. The founder of the Pink Lotus Breast Center, Dr. Kristi Funk, performed Crow’s surgery.

Sheryl said in a statement:

“Joining forces with the Pink Lotus Breast Center has provided me with a wonderful platform to create awareness and encourage the millions of American women over 40 to get their annual mammogram. Detecting breast cancer early is a woman’s best chance at survival, and digital full-field mammography is the gold standard of early detection.”

What a wonderful thing to do for women. Thank you, Sheryl!

From jail to rehab to…home again? Lindsay just can’t sit still! Maybe it’s the Adderal…

Lindsay Lohan was serving a 90-day inpatient rehab treatment at UCLA Medical Center, but there’s a chance she may be making bail early.

She has only been in treatment since August 2nd.

This seems to be becoming a trend for her; Lindsay served only 13 days of her 90-day jail sentence before being transferred to the hospital.

In a hearing this Wednesday a new judge, Elden Fox, will revisit Lindsay’s sentence.

District Attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison told PEOPLE:

“There’s a possibility she could get out from inpatient treatment earlier than 90 days,”

“But where she might go depends on whatever the doctors recommend.”

So she might have to continue some sort of treatment?

Poor Hollywood stars just can’t catch a break. Oh….wait.

Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe Kardashian, the stars of E! reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, earned record ratings with their premiere Sunday night. The stellar ratings made the show the series’ most watched season opener ever with almost 4.7 million viewers.

KISS bassist Gene Simmons moved to the United States from Israel as a young boy with his mother. In this video clip from the show Shatner’s Raw Nerve, hosted by William Shatner, Gene opens up and breaks down near the end describing the joys he and his mother, as Jewish immigrants, had upon entering the United States and becoming citizens.

It’s a great clip, and the seasoned rocker, shows how emotional it was for his mom, when she realized she didn’t have to Heil Hitler any more.

Just a few days after an onlooker committed suicide at one of their shows, The Swell Season have announced their hiatus.

Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova will pursue their own musical projects individually, but Glen says this break will be an eventual end to The Swell Season.

“I’ll go back to The Frames, and Mar will make her own record at some point,”

“This band will eventually naturally end. But right now, all of us are just so grateful.”

The ‘hiatus’ is not related to last week’s tragic incident, and is tragic in itself.

The Swell Season received an Oscar– Best Original Song– for the song “Falling Slowly”.

The two appear to be on good terms, despite ending their romantic relationship, and wish eachother well.

Glen said of Marketa, who will go on to do a solo project:

“I love the way she writes,”

“I think she’s an incredible songwriter, and I think she could make a really beautiful, beautiful record. I have no doubt, in fact.”

Oh well, all of the best bands break up anyway.

ABC has confirmed that Jennifer Aniston will join real life best friend Courteney Cox on the Cougar Town season two premiere, September 22nd.

This confirmation comes after much speculation last month that the Friends stars would reunite on television.

Executive producer Bill Lawrence reveals the details of Jen’s character on the show:

“She’s going to play Courteney’s shrink named Bonnie,”

“Kind of a get-too-involved-in-her-life-type of therapist. Those guys are so close in real life they kind of do that for each other anyway. Bonnie has the life Jules (Cox) wishes she has.”

Cox was eager to get Cougar Town on its feet before involving her best friend.

This will be just the second time the two have appeared on the T.V. screen together since Friends went off the air in 2004– the first being an episode of Courteney’s FX show Dirt.

“It starts and ends with Courteney and Jennifer being really great friends and excited to work together again—especially doing comedy together,” Lawrence adds. “Every day that those two talk they have more ideas about [the role]. It’s definitely something they’re both involved in creatively.”

So should we expect Jen to reappear throughout the season? Or is this a premiere thing, just to get people to watch?

“We’re very intentionally implying that it’s a therapist Courteney has been using for a while, and we’re certainly not going to make it like they’ll never see each other again,”

“So I’m crossing my fingers that if she has a good time it’ll happen again.”

Ah, thank goodness. I just wonder how they’ll write in Joey, Ross, Chandler and Phoebe…

Nick Loeb, boyfriend of ABC‘s Modern Family star Sofia Vergara, has been placed in the intensive care unit following a car crash yesterday afternoon. Paramedics rushed to the scene around 4:30pm where Nick was found with “a severely broken leg and deep gash across his chest.” Loeb was then rushed to a local hospital in Bel Air, California.

“Celebrity Rehab” co-stars, Rachel Uchitel, Tiger Woods’ mistress #1, and actor Jeremy London, were reportedly involved in a romantic relationship after they met on the show. Jeremy described Rachel, who he developed a strong relationship with, as an “amazing, intelligent and sensitive person”.

Jeremy is another famous married man to add to Rachel’s book, which already includes names like David Boreanaz and Tiger. The 37 year-old, who was recently “kidnapped” and forced to do drugs, defends the mistress, claiming the media unfairly judged her.

“I’m very protective of Rachel because of our friendship,” Jeremy said. “She’s been wrongfully persecuted by the media and because of what the media has done to me after I was nearly murdered, I relate to her.”

Both Jeremy and his wife Melissa Cunningham were in rehab together. They went through a very difficult stage in their relationship and they are currently separated, but remain legally married.

And in spite of being free to date whoever he wants, Jeremy vehemently denies the affair, claiming he and Rachel are like “brother and sister”. He said, “Without a doubt we are only friends. We never even kissed. We’ve never had an affair. Rachel is an amazing, intelligent and sensitive person; she’s a human being with human feelings.”
