The famous celebrity plastic surgeon– who performed Heidi Montag‘s extensive makeover last year– died in a car crash Monday afternoon.

Dr. Frank Ryan‘s jeep drifted off of the Pacific Coast Highway and into the rocks below just after 4 PM. The 50-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, and his dog, who was riding along, was seriously injured.

After hearing the news of her doctor’s death, Heidi Montag posted the following message on her Twitter:

“I am devastated to hear the news of Dr. Frank Ryan’s death. He was the most amazing person I have ever known. He was an angel and changed my life and the lives of everyone he met. He was the most brilliant talented surgeon who will ever exist. Dr. Frank Ryan changed the world. My thoughts and prayers go out to his mother, family, friends, and anyone who was ever blessed enough to meet him. He is in a better place.”

Ryan was best known for the lengthy 10-hour surgery he performed on 23-year-old Montag in November– completing nearly 10 changes to her body.

He received a bit of backlash for such an extensive surgery and responded with this when asked by PEOPLE at the time:

“My first concern is for the safety of the patient, so I would never push the envelope. Heidi’s a young, healthy girl; she was cleared medically. It was well within the realm of safety.”

That’s sad news. I won’t jump to conclusions, but it seems like Dr. Ryan may have been looking at his cell phone.

He tweeted quite a few times right before the accident was said to have happened.

Totally eerie, either way.

Britney Spears’ younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, and her baby daddy, Casey Aldridge, have reconciled after a nasty break up at the beginning of the year. Casey left the home he shared with Jamie Lynn and their 2 year-old daughter Maddie Briann in Liberty, Mississippi.

Jamie Lynn reportedly dated an older Louisiana businessman named James Watson for a few months while they were separated, but Casey and the 19 year-old momma are now trying to make it work again. The two and their daughter were spotted on a family date at Universal Studios in Los Angeles over the weekend (more pictures below).

Iconic author Ray Bradbury, who reached literary immortality with ‘Fahrenheit 451′ along with ‘Dandelion Wine’ and ‘Something Wicked This Way Comes,’ isn’t a fan of technology.

He thinks we have “too many machines,” and that “We have to get rid of those machines.”

So it should come as no surprise, the fury it caused with Bradbury when he was given several offers to make his literary classics available on the Kindle and other eReader devices.

Bradbury wrote darkly about bookburning in “Fahrenheit 451,” but he sounds ready to use a Kindle for kindling. “I was approached three times during the last year by Internet companies wanting to put my books” on an electronic reading device, he said. “I said to Yahoo, ‘Prick up your ears and go to hell.’ “

Bradbury, who is 90-years 0ld, isn’t a total loon.  I think there are people, old and young alike, who agree that we have too many machines and devices currently in our lives.  But Bradbury shouldn’t fool himself to think, that as soon as he passes, that his heirs won’t sell out to eReaders before the last shovel of dirt is thrown.

Newly minted Miami Heat guard LeBron James is on the cover of the September 2010 issue of GQ, along with a story and interview about the narcissist child star within the pages.

In the interview with J.R. Moehringer, ‘King James’ claims he wouldn’t be opposed to playing for the jilted Cleveland Cavaliers again one day, if the fans would welcome him back:

…on imagining himself playing for the Cavaliers again one day: “If there was an opportunity for me to return and those fans welcome me back, that’d be a great story.… Maybe the ones burning my jersey were never LeBron fans anyway.”

There you go Cavs fans. You can now get excited about the prospect of a 33-year old King James, on busted knees, finishing out the last two years of his storied career for your team.

Sandra Bullock’s ex-husband, Jesse James, and tattoo artist, Kat Von D, were seen getting cozy on a date at Palms Casino Resort’s N9NE in Los Vegas on Saturday night (August 14). They looked very intimate and were even spotted holding hands as they left on Jesse’s black Mercedes.

Jesse lost no time moving on. We thought he was still trying to make things work with Sandie, but Kat is definitely his type of girl – the tattooed bad girl type! The LA Ink star’s rep quickly denied the rumors, claiming the two have known each other for some time and they are just good old friends.

“They did have dinner, but they are just friends,” says the rep. “They’ve always remained good friends. There is no romance there with Jesse,” adding, “just good friends catching up. She’s been seen holding hands with friends before.”

Good friends… with certain benefits? The truth is Jesse and Kat spent the weekend together and they didn’t even try to hide their feelings as they were “very affectionate” and touchy-feely in public. Kat and Jesse!?! Perfect couple! Match made in heaven.

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning suffered a serious injury after teammate Brandon Jacobs accidently knocked his helmet loose and Calvin Pace struck him during a pre-season game against the New York Jets on Monday (August 16)- graphic video below.

Eli, who is Peyton Manning’s little brother and son of the former NFL QB Archie Manning, suffered a three inch laceration to the forehead and needed twelve stitches. The 29 year-old did not suffer a concussion and actually revealed he would have returned to the field if necessary.

“I feel fine,” Manning said in a statement released by the Giants. “I feel normal. I’ll be back as soon as I can. It’s really not an injury. Nothing serious. I really feel like I could go back out and play right now if I had to.”

Video preview footage of the nasty pie eating contest on the Bachelor Pad between the women that turned into a throwing-up affair.

The girls had to try to down the awful-looking pie with their hands tied behind their back, piggy style.

It was a close contest that came down to the wire between Tenley and Gia, but Gia was too much as she finished her pie before the rest of the women could.

Tenley, after puking on the table, continued to eat the pie/puke, in a gallant effort to win the title.

We had more than a few laughs around the house here watching these girls pig and puke out on national television.

Superstars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt co-parent the world’s super family– The Jolie-Pitt clan– a rainbow blend of 3 adopted and 3 biological children.

There’s Maddox (9), from Cambodia, Pax (6), from Vietnam, and Zahara (5), from Ethiopia– as well as their biological mini-mes– Shiloh (4) and twins Knox and Vivienne (2).

A real-live “It’s A Small World”, if you will.

And as A-list celebrities, it’s not surprising that Angelina and Brad have to deal with lots of rumors and gossip surrounding their brood of kiddos.

Angelina recently voiced her opinion on the way the media battles her parenting choices, with special attention to her four-year-old daughter Shiloh, who has a short haircut and dresses like a boy.

“I have a very strong-willed four-year-old girl who tells me what she wants to wear and I let her be who she is. She thinks she’s one of the brothers.”

Shiloh’s wardrobe choices often include fedoras, vests, ties, polo shirts and cargo pants– even swim trunks.

Of her daughter’s style:

“I want to do what’s in her heart and what’s in her heart is to dress like that. I think it’s beautiful,”

Angelina says that in addition to choosing her own ‘boy’ clothes, Shiloh wanted her hair cut short.

“Shiloh cried and said, ‘Please cut my hair off, I don’t want to have long hair,’”

Supermom added:

“I’m not going to leave it long because somebody thinks I should.”

I don’t think I could possibly agree with her more! It’s really a shame that we push gender roles on our kids before they’re really able to figure themselves out.

Let your kids be kids, and more importantly, be THEMSELVES!

Philip Markoff aka the Craigslist Killer, a former medical student who was accused of killing a masseuse he met through Craigslist, was found unresponsive with pen stabs to major arteries in his neck and leg and plastic bag over his head in his Nashua Street Jail cell on Sunday (August 15).

“Markoff was alone in his cell, and all evidence collected thus far indicates that he took his own life,” Suffolk County district attorney’s office said in a statement said. He was pronounced dead at around 10:15 am, a day after what would have been the fist anniversary if his wedding to Megan McAllister hadn’t been called off when he was arrested last year.

Philip, who pled not guilty to the brutal murder of the masseuse Julissa Brisman and armed robbery of a woman, another escort who advertised her services on Craigslist, in Boston, was going to trial in March 2011.

Vitamin Water’s wacky new video features crazed Hollywood actor Gary Busey portraying fantasy sports lawyer ‘Norman Tugwater.’  Tugwater is the sleazy lawyer for Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson in the clip.

Norman, in a crazed Busey’esque rant claims he is filing suit against all fantasy NFL owners worldwide in an attempt to cash in for AP and HIMSELF for fantasy players using Adrian in their fantasy NFL leagues.

The video also includes a cameo by Shaquille O’Neal and America Olivio.

According to sources, a 90210 gay character will be revealed this season. Character Teddy Montgomery, played by actor Trevor Donovan, will admit that he’s gay in the upcoming third season of the CW show.Previously, it was rumored that Liam (Matt Lanter), Navid (Michael Steger), or Teddy would come out of the closet.

Actor Kyle Riabko has been cast as Teddy’s love interest, and rehearsals are currently underway for next season. On the last episode of the second season, audiences saw Teddy reunited with his girlfriend. It’ll certainly be shocking to see….that is, if you’re not reading this blog
