The Swell Season have arranged for group counseling sessions to help fans who witnessed a man commit suicide at their show in Saratoga, California last week.

The man jumped from a building onto the stage where Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova were performing.

The band met with folks at the Kara grief support center in Palo Alto, California to make arrangements for the estimated 1900 fans who witnessed the tragedy.

Glen and Marketa also released this statement urging fans to attend:

“At some point over the weekend we met with grief counselors to help try and make sense of this situation. While we likely will never gain the answers we need, what we did get out of the conversations were of great service to our mind, body and soul. In regards to coping with what we witnessed it was a step in the right direction. We have come to realize that some of those in attendance may be in need of similar counseling and may not be receiving it. Our hearts go out to you and we want to encourage you to talk to someone who has experience in these types of matters.”

The Swell Season also announced recently that the band is on hiatus, and will eventually be no more, though they say that this is not related to the recent tragedy.

This is such a HUGE HUGE gesture, especially since it was in no way the band’s fault.

Good to know there are still good-hearted people in the world.

Popular Spanish singer Julio Iglesias, who is the father of the one and only Enrique Iglesias, and his longtime girlfriend, former Dutch model Miranda Rijnsburger, have finally tied the knot in a secret ceremony at the Virgin Del Carmen church in Marbella, Spain on Tuesday (August 24), according to Hola.

The private wedding ceremony was only attended by the couple’s children and two witnesses. The 66 year-old singer and 45 year-old model have been together for more than twenty years and have five children together, Miguel Alejandro (13), Rodrigo (11), twins Victoria and Cristina (9), and Guillermo (3).

So many people accuse Levi Johnston of being fame-hungry, and he is, but he insists that his ex-fiancee Bristol Palin is just as much of a spotlight seeker!

Levi said in an interview with the CBS Early Show:

“I don’t think I’m any more obsessed with making a career out of this than she is,”

“Obviously she’s doing Dancing with the Stars. I wouldn’t say I’m obsessed with any of it. I’m just taking it as it comes.”

He makes a fair point– Bristol recently made her television debut in an episode of ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager, and is expected to be cast on Dancing With The Stars in its 11th season.

Bristol called off their engagement– for a second time– just a few weeks ago, because she said that Levi was just too obsessed with the limelight.

He is currently in talks to get Loving Levi: The Road To The Mayor’s Office onto a major network.

Jake Pavelka, former Bachelor, has admitted to trying just about anything to find his perfect match. He went on The Bachelor after all. Jake, 32, even admitted to trying out Match.com:

“I’ve tried Match.com. It is really hard to meet people, and the reason it’s hard to meet people is timing. You don’t know where people are! Did they just come out of a relationship, are they completely closed off emotionally, or have they had a whole line of really bad breakups?”

He said the best part of finding someone on a reality show is the “little adventure”:

“The one thing the producers ensure is that everybody is in a good place personally, unless they’re in a current relationship — and that has happened.
