A few months after being arrested for a second DUI, Chris Klein has completed the four days in jail required for people with a second offense.

Chris appeared in a California court on Friday and pleaded no contest to driving under the influence.

In addition to the four days in jail and two months in a live-in rehab center he’s already completed, Chris was sentenced to four years’ probation and 18-month alcohol education class, as well as due fines.

His first DUI offense was in 2005.

Chris told the judge:

“I apologize for my wrongdoing and I really appreciate that the court gave me the opportunity to prove how seriously I took all of this,”

His attorney told PEOPLE:

“Chris took immediate responsibility for what he did and has used this experience in such a positive way to get help to confront an addiction to alcohol. He deserves enormous credit for stepping up and getting it done.”

Enormous credit? Maybe when he decides not to get behind the wheel drunk in the first place.

Not that he’ll be able to– he’s been ordered to put an ignition interlock device on his car that will keep it from starting if alcohol is detected on his breath.

Best of luck to him, though.

Hopefully facing his mistake will prevent it in the future.
