John Mayer, the singer/writer/musician/loudmouth, has cancelled his famous Twitter account after stating that the website was “over” earlier in the year. And we all know he knows best….

John Mayer Playboy Interview Text & Emotional Apology (Video)

Mayer got himself in a bit of trouble earlier in the year for his comments during a Playboy interview. He’s attempted to keep a low-profile since then, but that never seems to work out well. After attracting 3.1 million followers, Mayer made the decision to end his relationship with the good ol’ microblogging website yesterday after Tweeting:

“What does this button do?”

His spokesman confirmed the break-up:

“With the Battle Studies tour now at a close and a return to the studio planned, John has discontinued his Twitter account. However, he continues to communicate with his fans via his blog as he always has.”

I stopped following that jerk months ago. He’s adorable and talented, but he needs to learn how to keep his mouth shut. This should do him some good!
