Oscar-nominated actor Tony Curtis (real name Bernard Schwartz), who is the father of actress Jamie Lee Curtis, reportedly died of cardiac arrest at around 9:25 pm in his home in Nevada on Wednesday (September 29). He was 85 years old.

Tony appeared in more than 100 films and made frequent television appearances, but he was probably best known for his roles in the 1959 classic “Some Like It Hot”, also starring Marilyn Monroe and Jack Lemmon, and “The Defiant Ones”, which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.

Tony was married six times with different women. His first wife, actress Janet Leigh, the mother of Jamie Lee and Kelly Curtis, was followed by Christine Kaufmann, Leslie Allen, Andria Savio, Lisa Deutsch, and his current wife Jill Vandenberg Curtis, with whom the actor tied the knot back in 1998.
