According to Oliver Peck, owner of Elm Street Tattoo who was married to the LA Ink star from 2003 to 2007, revealed Kat was constantly struggling to lose weight. Kat’s obsession led her to a destructive path of drugs and alcohol and she even considered having liposuction.

“She’s the most self-centered person I’ve ever been involved with,” he shares. “Toward the end of our marriage,” Oliver claims, “she was wanting to get liposuction, and she was taking drugs in order to lose weight.”

Kat “got to the point where she was drinking until she was throwing up every day,” shares Oliver of the 28-year-old, who finally got sober in 2008. “She’d be incoherent and sometimes destructive.” Oliver says he tried to stand by her — until a friend told him “she was having an affair.”

Segway owner Jimi Heselden died on Sunday when he was riding one of his motorized people movers – the Segway – and rode it off a cliff into a river in West Yorkshire.

Heselden purchased the Segway company back in December 2009.  He amassed most of his massive fortune from mining.  He was also one of England’s biggest philanthropists.   He was 62-years old.

Southwest Airlines has come to an agreement to buy struggling airline AirTran for $1.4 billion dollars.

Southwest will also assume AirTran’s debt and current airplane operating leases that will bring the total price of the deal to $3.4 billion.

The deal as currently proposed values AirTran’s stock at $7.65 a share.  AirTran stock closed Friday at $4.55/share.  It was already up over $7/share in early morning trading today.

The purchase by Southwest will allow them to move into even more markets than before.  Southwest has been one of the few airlines to remain profitable since 9/11.

“Cape Fear” actress Illeana Douglas has filed a restraining order against a co-worker’s wife, who was recently arrested for brutally beating her husband “with a baseball bat, a chair, [and] a mallet” and released from jail. Illeana believes the “mentally ill” woman is after her for revenge.

In the legal documents, Illeana says the woman is “mentally ill” and mistakenly believes, “I am the reason she was arrested” — and has vowed since her release from the slammer to “spend the rest of her life ‘getting me.’”

British singer Amelle Berrabah, best known as one of the new Sugababes after replacing Mutya Buena, was arrested for drunk driving after being pulled over at 5:23 am in London, England on Thursday (September 23).

The 26 year-old, who was rumored to had been drinking after an heated argument with her boyfriend Tom Benn, was charged with driving with excess alcohol and is set to appear in court on October 8.

Amelle took to her Twitter to debunk the rumors and explain what happened that night, claiming to feel absolutely embarrassed by this situation.

Amelle tweeted: “I can’t believe what’s being said! I’m so sad this has happened to me.

“I got up to do my normal 6am jog – you guys know this as I twitter about it all the time! I’d been out the night before for drinks with friends and got stopped on my way to meet my personal trainer and it was obviously still in my system.

“I’m sooo angry with myself, I felt fine and had a coffee. Why do papers always write horrid stuff on me I feel like I’m going rock bottom again.”

The singer apparently cannot handle the pressure of the media and these rumors clearly deeply affected her. Amelle should know better – sleeping for a couple of hours does not automatically clean your system!

Amelle was admitted to a clinic in Austria, where she was treated for severe nervous exhaustion last year. We hope the singer gets some help and doesn’t fall into that downward spiral again.

Stand-up comedian Greg Giraldo was hospitalized after an accidental overdose of prescription pills on Saturday (September 25). The 44 year-old was reportedly found unconscious by a friend and immediately taken to a hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Greg is currently hospitalized in a critical but stable condition. Contrary to early reports, Greg did not try to commit suicide. The overdose was an accident and the comedian had no intent to take his own life.

When Oksana Grigorieva signed a Cohabitation Agreement with Mel Gibson in December of 2009, she agreed not to go after his money and recognized that her only right was to live on his property and keep a Dodge Charger he bought her.

But when the new year rolled around and Mel started bullying her, Oksana decided she wanted a piece of his fortune to make up for it.

The agreement lists Mel’s net worth as $150 million plus.

Apparently, there were many exchanges between Mel and Oksana about him paying her for her suffering.

TMZ asked Daniel Horowitz, Oksana’s lawyer, why she changed her mind.

He said:

“When she signed the agreement in December she had no idea Mel would be treating her like a punching bag in January.  She gave up her career for a man who started beating her.”

A pretty valid point!

In May, during mediation, Mel granted a few million in Oksana’s direction under the condition that she turned over the famous audiotapes.

All would be well and good, except that according to TMZ and law enforcement sources there is an extortion investigation underway to determine if Oksana used the tapes to get money from Mel.

Well…duh?

Like in any other court case, Oksana has a right to some money to ease the emotional and physical pain Mel inflicted on her.

While Johnny Knoxville was off marrying his baby-mama, Zooey Deschanel‘s little sister Emily Deschanel said “I do” to her boyfriend of 3 years, David Hornsby.

The two held a private ceremony in the Pacific Palisades of Los Angeles, and the bride wore “a pair of matching diamond and platinum scroll hair pins and drop earrings by Neil Lane,” according to PEOPLE.

David writes/acts for FX‘s popular comedy show It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, while Emily, of course, stars in the hit TV show Bones.

Bones is currently in its sixth season.

After we’ve grown so fond of Farrah, Maci, Catelynn and Amber on Teen Mom, MTV wants to hook us again with new young moms-to-be on a new season of 16 and Pregnant.

Like Catelynn and Tyler, who gave up their daughter Carly for adoption, it looks like another teen mom will choose to give her baby up this season.

16 and Pregnant will give us more paternity tests, more adoptions, more angry (grand)parents, and lots and lots of tears to look forward to!

I know there’s a lot of controversy surrounding these documentary shows and whether or not they actually promote teen pregnancy, but I think they make for great awareness.

Can’t wait for what looks to be a great season.
