Donate and Help the Kids of St. Jude – (St. Jude Marathon)
I’ve run 14 marathons over the past 12 months and a total of 19 to date. I went to sign up for the St. Jude Marathon in Memphis last month and was disappointed to find out that registration had already been closed.
But luckily there was a loop hole. If I paid the registration fee ($100) and committed to raising $500 for St. Jude Children’s Hospital then I could run the marathon. Who says procrastination doesn’t pay off?
I hate asking people for money, especially when everyone is always asking everyone else for money for their school, family, or charity. There are many scams and shady people out there asking for our money on a daily basis. St. Jude is not one of them.
St. Jude Children’s Hospital Mission Statement:
Mission
The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay.
I am only required to raise $500 to run the marathon, but I’ve set a goal of $2,000 that I would like to raise for St. Jude.
These financial times and rough economy have been hard on many of us or people we know closely. If you can’t donate then at least hit the ‘LIKE’ Facebook button at the top of this post or share the link to this page on your Facebook page or Twitter.
