‘The Social Network’ Star Jesse Eisenberg for Vanity Fair
Jesse Eisenberg, 27, the star of the controversial new film The Social Network, recently opened up to Vanity Fair about his leading role.
Moviegoers ‘Like’ The Social Network, Make it #1 at Box Office
Eisenberg, who has been seen in films such as Zombieland, Adeventureland and The Squid and the Whale, plays Mark Zuckerberg, the computer genius who founded the popular website Facebook while he attended Harvard University in 2004. Zuckerberg, who is known for being terribly antisocial, is said to be gentle and quiet, which Eisenberg can certainly relate to: he doesn’t own a television, he doesn’t go to the movies, he doesn’t have a Facebook page and he becomes extremely nervous in large groups.
‘The Social Network’: Fact Vs. Fiction
The movie, which focuses on the lawsuit Zuckerberg faced after being accused of “stealing” the idea for the website, required Eisenberg to side with his character:
“It would be irresponsible for me to speak to his influence on the company, because I don’t know what happened. But as an actor, I had to believe that there was no one other than Mark who could have had the social insight, technical wherewithal, and, most significantly, the ambition to make Facebook work.”
Solid answer. A+, Eisenberg!
