Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal were spotted ‘canoodling’ around New York City over the weekend, but are they dating?

Taylor and Jake were seen together by multiple sources at Saturday’s taping of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Taylor’s friend Emma Stone.

A source said:

“They showed up together,”

“They walked around together backstage, but they were careful not to be seen too close. It was hard to tell if they were together, but everyone was shocked that she brought him.”

Hmm. Taylor and Jake were also seen being very friendly around Brooklyn, but reps for both stars gave no comment about their potential more-than-friends relationship.

Could love be in the cards for Taylor? I mean, isn’t it always?

She recently told PEOPLE:

“I love going on dates and getting to know people,”

“For me, love is something I occasionally make an exception for if it feels right. I don’t search it out. I just think that if I’m supposed to meet someone, I will.”

With her new album ‘Speak Now‘ out today — and most of the songs being about exes, and named (ahem, John Mayer) — Jake better be careful with this little lady’s heart if the rumors of their dating are true.
