Gossip Girl stars, Penn Badgley and Blake Lively, have officially announced they decided to end their three year relationship, but claim to still remain good friends. The couple apparently split in September without the knowledge of their co-stars since they have always been pretty private about their romance.

“They’re professionals,” an insider tells Us Weekly. “They’re still good friends and hang out on the set.”

“Nobody on set had any idea,” says the insider. “They’re really just private.”

Despite being so young, Blake and Penn seem to be both very mature because of the way they handled this situation. They are truly professional to not let their personal issues interfere with their work on the set of CW’s hit show.

Sad news. I always thought Blake and Penn’s relationship was stronger than most Hollywood marriages. I hope there is still a chance for Dan Humphrey and Serena van der Woodsen to get back together on the show.
