HBO’s ‘Big Love’ Cancelled After Five Seasons
HBO has announced that the polygamy drama Big Love‘s fifth season, which begins January 16, will be the last.

President of HBO, Michael Lombardo, said in a statement:
“It has been an honor and pleasure to work with series creators Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer on this unique and provocative series, and I’m happy that they will be able to bring the story to its close the way they always envisioned. We look forward with great anticipation to collaborating with Mark and Will on their next venture.”
Mark V. Olsen and Will Schaeffer said in a joint statement:
“While we were in the writers’ room this year shaping our fifth season, we discovered that we were approaching the culmination of that story.”
While the show has never produced huge ratings, Big Love has had a serious following of dedicated viewers and even earned multiple Emmy nominations. It hasn’t gone without problems though; it’s fourth season was not only slammed by critics but by one of the show’s stars, Chloe Sevigny:
“It was awful this season, as far as I’m concerned. I’m not allowed to say that! It was very telenovela. I feel like it kind of got away from itself. The whole political campaign seemed to me very farfetched.”
Don’t worry. Sevigny apologized (you can read her “apology” HERE), claiming that her words were taken out of context.
I really hate to see this show get cancelled. I’ve always been a huge fan. I’m also noticing that I have a strange attraction to anything that has to do with polygamy…hmm…
TLC Renews ‘Sister Wives’ For A Second Season
Also, isn’t it quite interesting that TLC‘s polygamist reality show Sister Wives has been renewed for a second season?

We will miss Big Love in our home; it is after all, a unique concept for a TV series. Sadly, so many other programs continue ad infinitum, ad nauseum, and this one, which is terrific, is only being given the 5 seasons. I truly hope that they reconsider.
I HOPE THEY RECONSIDER! PLEASE!!!!! I NEED THIS SHOW! The twisted drama from the first season was AWESOME! PLEASE! I WILL GO THROUGH BIG LOVE WITHDRAWLS!!!! PLEASE, for the LOVE of the world, don’t stop this show!
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series from the beginning. I will truly miss all of the characters and their unusual life style. There is so much tripe on television these days, it was so nice to have a show that really could put the audience in its’ grip. if there is any chance this show will be renewed, PLEASE, PLEASE consider.

I watched it from the begining to the end which i thought the end SUCKED !!!! BAD but i would really love for Big Love to please come back. Just put Bill in a coma in the hospital and get the show moving again with him waking back up. And get Margy, off the stupid boat trip ideas and back in the family . Come on guys im not a screen writer but i know what you guys need to do to make everyone happy. And thats bring the show BACK… thank you…
