90210 star Shannen Doherty released a sad statement noting that her father, John Thomas Doherty, has passed away at the age of 66.

Shannen’s dad suffered a stroke on Christmas last year, which is what inspired the 39-year-old to take on Dancing With the Stars last season.

John Thomas Doherty died on Friday, leaving behind his wife Rosa and kids Sean and Shannen Doherty — Shannen remembers him as the:

“greatest man in the world . . . I love him with every inch of my being and cannot imagine life without him.”
