Dancing With The Stars contestant, Bristol Palin, the famous daughter of Alaskan politician Sarah Palin, and MTV’s Teen Mom star, Maci Bookout, have met a few times at several events related to teen pregnancy and abstinence and have become good friends.

The two have a lot more in common than people might think. They are both separated from the father of their babies; both have sons with similar age; and are both under intense media scrutiny.

“We are good friends,” Maci tells UsMagazine. “We’re friends outside of…TV and the press. We more talk about our kids and our babies’ dads and stuff.”

“We’re not BFFs,” Maci clarifies. “But we definitely keep in touch and make sure everything is going good with each other.”

Maci’s presence in the audience on Dancing With The Stars has caused a bit of controversy since Bristol’s mom allegedly doesn’t want her associated with the “Teen Mom” girls. Maci responds, “I definitely don’t think it’s true. It was actually a lot of fun — upbeat and hyper!”

As for the rumor Maci and Bristol will be the stars of a new reality show together, the 19 year-old from Tennessee says, “She was like, ‘So, I was just wondering how our new show is going’. We just laugh about it.”
