Brendan Fraser Play ‘Elling’ Closes After One Week On Broadway
Brendan Fraser‘s Broadway comedy ‘Elling’ is closing after only one week, making it one of the shortest runs on the Great White Way in recent years.
The production, which officially opened on November 21, will have played 22 previews and 9 official performances.
In October, The Mummy star was excited to start his time on stage:
“Coming to Broadway is the fulfillment of a life’s aspiration for me. I’m very excited.”
“I’m looking forward to the whole run of it, for having had the experience of the arc of a performance over an entire run. We have 20 weeks, so that’s a lot of time for me to learn how to get my job done right. By closing night, I’ll have it down!”
The play closed today after the matinee at New York’s Ethel Barrymore Theatre.
Yikes! Better luck next time?
