Spider-Man On Broadway Continues Despite Major Technical Issues

Despite major technical difficulties during the first preview, Broadway’s Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark featuring music by U2, Bono and The Edge, will continue through previews.

A rep for the Broadway show said:

“There will be no delays in performance schedule. Previews will continue as planned.”

He added:

“The cast and crew were thrilled to play the show in front of their first audience last night.”

Spider-Man is the most expensive show to ever hit the Great White Way. At $65 million it’s twice as much as the 2nd most expensive, Shrek the Musical.

The first preview, held Sunday, ran at three-and-a-half hours, stopping at least five times with multiple actors dangling from cables due to flying difficulties. One woman is the audience reportedly called out: ”I don’t know how everyone else feels, but I feel like a guinea pig today — I feel like it’s a dress rehearsal.” She was then met with boos.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m dying to see this production. Technical difficulties are to be expected. This is the most difficult show to ever be produced on Broadway. Can’t wait to hear more about it!
