The 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards hosted by actress Eva Longoria-Parker were held at the La Caja Magica in Madrid, Spain on Sunday (November 7). The red carpet turned into a purple carpet where celebrities shined in their selected ensembles for the special evening.

This year the carpet was particularly disappointing. Rihanna seemed to be the only one to understand the red carpet is the place to be dramatic and wow with outrageous fashion. Most celebrities were pretty outrageous in a disastrous way. What the heck were Eva Longoria and Snooki wearing? Simply awful.

Former teen idol David Cassidy was arrested for DUI after he was pulled over by a Florida Highway Patrol trooper who spotted him in a white Mercedes driving erratically at around 6 pm on Wednesday (November 3).

David, who crossed the center divider line, cut off another driver when he tried to merge onto an exit ramp, was completely wasted – he was unsteady on his feet and failed several sobriety tests.

The 60 year-old admitted that he had a glass of wine at lunch and a hydrocodone tablet in the afternoon, which does not explain why he blew a 0.14 on a breath test. David was charged with driving under the influence, failure to maintain a single lane and having an open container (bottle of bourbon).

David was released on $350 bail.

Ke$ha recently teamed up with the It Gets Better campaign to fight bullying, and in a new interview with NY Mag she shared that she, too, has haters.

“Oh absolutely. I have haters. I have so many haters. People assume because you’re in the public eye that we don’t notice or we don’t care about it, but I’ve definitely experienced my fair share of hate.”

“And that’s what doing the It Gets Better Campaign is about, because there will always be haters, there will always be cynical people, and there will always be jealousy. It’s really just learning to ignore the haters and giving them the finger and doing what you know is right for you. That’s what I’ve had to learn how to do, and that’s what hopefully any kids getting bullied would know how to do.”

Even though she has stepped up as a role model in this aspect, Ke$ha says she doesn’t want kids to wake up and brush their teeth with Jack Daniels:

“It wasn’t an instruction manual for 8-year-old little girls to do.”

And what about the ever-so-trendy dollar sign meant to play an S in the middle of her name? Ke$ha says she doesn’t plan to drop it any time soon:

“I don’t know. It’s ironic. Some people have gotten the irony, some people it’s been lost on. It is definitely obnoxious. But I think part of the job of a pop star is to be a little bit obnoxious, so I think I’m doing my job well.”

James Franco‘s latest film 127 Hours hit theaters on Friday, and it has apparently been turning some stomachs.

127 Hours is the true story of rock climber Aron Ralston, who in 2003 was pinned beneath a boulder for 5 days and had to amputate his own arm in order to survive. Franco plays Ralston, and his depiction — as one reviewer called the amputation scene — is “the most harrowing bone-breaking and amputation scene in the history of cinema.”

In fact, the film was screened last week at the London Film Festival and paramedics had to be called to treat nausea, vomiting, fainting and even seizures.

Yikes! Hold onto your seats, 127 Hours sounds like a wild ride.

Kelly Preston and John Travolta announced in May that they are expecting a baby boy, and the time has come for him to make his debut! In just about 3 weeks, the new baby will join Kelly, John and 10-year-old sister Ella Bleu.

So what’s his name?

Kelly and John did a little early name dropping– their new son will be named Benjamin!

No word on the middle name, though it’s likely it will pay homage to their 16-year-old son Jett, who died last year.

John and Kelly revealed why they decided to spill the beans prior to the baby’s arrival in a statement:

“It’s impossible to keep a secret … especially one as wonderful as this,”

“We want to be the first to share this great news with everyone that we are expecting a new addition to our family.”
