Actress Jill Clayburgh, who recently played a devoted matriarch on “Dirty Sexy Money”, died after a 21-year battle with chronic lymphocytic leukemia at her home in Lakeville, Connecticut on Friday (November 5). Jill was 66 years old.

Jill, who was known for her empowering feminist roles, won an Academy Award for her portrayal of Erica, a New Yorker who struggles after her husband leaves her for another woman, in 1978’s “An Unmarried Woman”. The 66 year-old also appeared in several TV shows like “Law & Order”, “The Practice”, “Nip/Tuck” and “Ally McBeal”.

The actress is survived by her husband David Rabe and two children, Michael Rabe and actress Lily Rabe.

“Storm Chasers” stars Matt Hughes had allegedly passed away due to complications from a fatal injury at his home in Kansas back in May, according to the latest episode of the Discovery’s reality show.

The truth is Matt committed suicide. Cops responded to a suicide call on May 14. When they arrived at Matt’s home, he was still breathing but had been drinking before the suicide attempt. Matt was taken to the hospital where he died 13 days later. The cause of death is listed as “hanging”.

Discovery has set up a memorial fund for Matt’s wife and his two sons. R.I.P. Matt Hughes.

Singer Nick Lachey, who was previously married to Jessica Simpson, and his longtime girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo are officially engaged to be married after dating for more than four years. The 36 year-old went down on one knee to pop the question near a beach in California on Thursday (November 4).

Vanessa and Nick briefly split last year, but they weren’t separated for a long time before falling into each other’s arms again. The lovebirds are allegedly very happy with their relationship. The 29 year-old recently revealed the two showers together twice a day to maintain a certain level of intimacy.

“It’s not a sexual thing and it’s not a romantic thing,” Vanessa said. “It just becomes an intimate thing … I’ve had some of my most intimate conversations with him in the shower.”

Former “The Bachelorette” contestant, Julien Hug, who vied for the heart of Jillian Harris on season 5 of the show, was found dead at around 11am in a remote area near Pinyon Pines in Riverside County, California on Wednesday (November 3).

The 35 year-old restaurateur was reportedly adventurous. His body was found in a very remote area of the San Bernardino National Forest, where he would have to have hiked into. A helicopter was required to remove the body.

The cause of death is still undetermined, but there was no sign of foul play. Julien’s father, Bertrand Hug, was the one to call the cops after his son’s cell phone went dead on Monday (November 1). The San Diego bachelor was in town to help manage the family’s newest restaurant.

Former host of Miss America pageant, Gary Collins, is wanted for being involved in a hit-and-run in Jackson Mississipi on Tuesday (November 2). A warrant for his arrest has been issued.

The 72 year-old was allegedly completely drunk when he struck another car, injuring a woman and her child. The woman says Gary got out of the car “clearly intoxicated”, threw his hand ups in the air and asked “What are we waiting for?”

When the woman told him the cops were on the way, Gary, who has been arrested three times for DUI over the last ten years, returned to his car and drove off. A man died in an accident after Gary was driving drunk in 2007.

Former Spice Girl Emma Bunton aka Baby Spice and her longtime boyfriend Jade Jones are expecting their second child together. The baby due in May 2011 will join 3 year-old big brother Beau Lee.

The 34 year-old singer announced the good news on Twitter. She tweeted, “So our family grows, we are SO excited to announce we’re having our 2nd baby and beau’s wish for a brother or sister has come true!”

Emma and Jade, a former member of Damage, have been together for more than 10 years. The two have been rumored to be engaged and planning to tie the knot soon, but Emma denied it, claiming she does not need a wedding to justify her relationship with Jade.

Rapper Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. aka Lil Wayne was released from Rikers Island jail after serving almost eight months of his one-year term on a weapons conviction for good behavior.

Lil Wayne, who worked on new music and released his latest album titled “I Am Not a Human Being” while incarcerated, is irresponsibly free and already planning a mega party to celebrate his freedom at a Miami strip club on Sunday. The rapper might even make a special appearance at Drake’s concert on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Wayne was arrested in July 2007. He initially pled not guilty to gun possession and changed his plea to guilty in October of 2009 in exchanged for a reduced sentence.

Boston Celtics star Kevin Garnett insulted Detroit Pistons player Charlie Villanueva by saying he looks like a cancer patient on the field, according to Sportscasm. Of course Charlie was not offended by the comparison, but was completely shocked by the insensitive and hurtful comment.

Charlie tweeted, “KG called me a cancer patient, I’m pissed because, u know how many people died from cancer, and he’s tossing it like it’s a joke,” adding, “I wouldn’t even trip about that, but a cancer patient, I know way 2 many people who passed away from it, and I have a special place 4 those.”

Charlie challenged Kevin, tweeting, “KG talks alot of crap, he’s prob never been in a fight, I would love to get in a ring with him, I will expose him.”

Charlie is absolutely right. You do not joke with certain things, especially if millions of people all over the world suffering and battling cancer. It’s insensitive and inhuman.
