So You Think You Can Dance judge and Emmy winner Mia Michaels is giving up her seat as a judge on the reality dance competition. She’s best known for her contemporary dance style, having choreographed for celebrities such as Ricky Martin, Celine Dion and Madonna.

Here’s what she had to say about her departure from the reality show:

“Last year when I was sitting on the [judges] panel, I knew it wasn’t the right fit because I felt too glossy sitting on the panel. People were so focused on what I wore and my hair. I wanted to get dirty and back to the work. I am an artist and I’m a visionary. I need to paint my world now and not be constantly linked to So You think You Can Dance.”

And it’s not that she isn’t grateful for her time on the show:

“It’s been a great platform. It was a wonderful platform. I’m staring at [my] two Emmys right now. It was an amazing, amazing thing for me but I feel like I have to fly. I have to now focus on Mia’s world.”

She added:

“I heard they’re bringing Mary Murphy back and I’m really happy for her,” Michaels says. “I’ve sat in that chair, but I feel like that was Mary’s chair.”

And don’t worry, Mia has plenty to work on. She’s writing a memoir, starring in an upcoming Bravo reality show and developing a Broadway show.

Mattel is planning to release a Barbie doll modeled after the late Farrah Fawcett, who died of cancer last June.

The doll will make its debut sometime next fall, but a prototype has been released — and is for sale for $1,500.

Oh, the irony! Tony Parker and Eva Longoria appeared as lovers Danny and Sandy in a ‘Grease‘ spoof video the San Antonio Spurs did as a promo.

The most ironic part is that Spurs player Brent Barry‘s wife Erin Barry — who Tony Parker is accused of cheating with — was also in the promo, and plays Rizzo — who butts heads with Sandy and pushes her (Eva) into a trashcan.

The video alludes to the issues between Eva and Erin long before the world knew Tony was (allegedly) cheating with Barry’s wife.

Both Tony Parker and Eva Longoria have filed for divorce — separately — in Texas and Los Angeles.

Disney debuted their first fairytale ‘princess film’ in 1937, and Snow White became an instant classic.

But Pixar Animation Studios chief Ed Catmull, who oversees Disney Animation, says all good things must come to an end — and Disney is pulling the plug on their fairtytale releases.

“Films and genres do run a course,”

“They may come back later because someone has a fresh take on it … but we don’t have any other musicals or fairy tales lined up.”

Disney princesses have been the money-maker of the emprise since Snow White debuted, but maybe gearing the theme park for all sexes isn’t such a bad idea, what with Buzz, Woody and Captain Jack Sparrow making waves.

Last year’s The Princess and the Frog was Disney’s poorest performing princess film to date, and the upcoming release of Tangled (the Rapunzel story) may have similar results with only a small audience targeted. go on reading »

Kourtney Kardashian talks baby in the December/January issue of Babytalk.

Her son Mash Dash Disick is now 11 months old, and Kourtney says he’s growing up too fast.

“I remember how quickly those first few days went by. I cried every day that it was one less day I would have with Mason [as an infant],”

Kourtney says that she and boyfriend Scott Disick, Mason’s dad, made the most of the all-nighter with a newborn:

“I nursed Mason every two hours. He loved to sleep all day and party all night,”

“It was actually a fun time, though! Scott and I would stay up watching movies and taking turns trying to rock Mason to sleep.”

Kourtney made an oath to herself to soak up each of Mason’s milestones as they happen, and not be too eager for the next big one:

“I really want to enjoy the stage he’s at now. I don’t look forward and say, ‘I can’t wait until he’s walking.’ I want to enjoy right now,”

Kourtney is so in love with Mason that she wants to record everything he does:

“I forgot to write down some of Mason’s milestones. Luckily, a lot of them were caught on camera,”

“Now I immediately enter everything into my cell phone so I always have them, and then into the baby book.”

“The innocence of a baby is magical.”

This week, producers officially announced that two-time Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis will officially play the role of Abraham Lincoln in Steven Spielberg‘s latest project.

The biopic has been delayed for quite some time with actor Liam Neeson backing out of playing the 16th president, but with Lewis signed on, the film is back on track. Director Spielberg said in a statement:

“Daniel Day-Lewis would have always been counted as one of the greatest of actors, were he from the silent era, the golden age of film or even some time in cinema’s distant future. I am grateful and inspired that our paths will finally cross with ‘Lincoln.’”

The film, which we reportedly begin filming next fall (just in time for the 2012 awards season) will “focus on the political collision of Lincoln and the powerful men of his cabinet on the road to abolition and the end of the Civil War.”

Since Eva Longoria filed for divorce from Tony Parker in L.A., he thinks he should match her move and file for divorce from her in Texas.

Tony cited “discord or conflict of personalities,” while Eva’s papers cited “irreconcilable differences” — a matter of wording, really.

But rumors spread quickly that Parker was actually cheating with his ex-Spurs teammate Brent Barry‘s wife Erin Barry, and Eva had had enough of his antics.

Maybe that’s why he felt the need to file for divorce…guilty conscience?

In any case, with two court dates in the works, it’s pretty clear Longoria and Parker are no more.

During the interview, the Anne dished on her nude scenes with Jake, who played her husband in 2005′s Brokeback Mountain:

“There is that revoltingly embarrassing moment when you have to take your clothes off in front of strangers. I mean, I don’t go to the beach in a bikini for a reason. So I thought, ‘Okay, I’m going to be in control. I’m going to do everything properly, disrobe at the last minute, and in between shots get the clothes back on.’ But then I found that every time I put my robe back on, it rubbed all the body makeup off, and that added 20 minutes to filming. As with all things in life, the second you stop making it about you and you make it about everyone else, it just got, dare I say, fun.”

Teri Hatcher is walking away from her role as Susan Mayer on ABC’s Desperate Housewives — a role she’s held for 7 years.

An inside said Teri let the news break to ABC:

“Teri has given in her notice and is making active preparations to move on,”

“She says she had an amazing run on the show but feels it is time to move on to a project that she has more control over.”

ABC was prepared to keep the show running for at least 2 more seasons, but with the dynamics of the characters, it won’t work without Teri Hatcher around.

After next season, Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria and Felicity Huffman will all be out of contract, which is bad news for Desperate Housewives.

“ABC hasn’t announced its schedule yet because the future of the series is up in the air,”

“Some of the crew are disappointed in Teri, they feel like she is abandoning the show that revived her career.”

“Desperate Housewives can’t really continue without Teri or Felicity because they need the original stars to pull in the ratings.”

Meanwhile, a spokesperson from ABC commented on the life of the show:

‘We are working on the next season at the moment and we haven’t got anything to say about the one after.’

Surprise! Another Housewife has filed for bankruptcy. Real Housewives of New York City‘s Sonja Morgan filed for bankruptcy Wednesday.

According to the court papers, Morgan is in $19.8 million worth of debt and has $13.5 million in assets.

Morgan, who joined the show during the third season, stated in the petition:

“The decision to seek bankruptcy was not an easy one, but unfortunately, I am at a crossroads in my life.”

She says what caused most of the debt was a failed movie project with Hannibal Pictures Inc. The movie, called Fast Flash to Bang Time, never filmed because it’s planned star, John Travolta, needed “various conditions” that Sonja Productions was incapable of providing. Hannibal Pictures Inc. eventually filed a lawsuit against Sonja Productions, winning a $7 million judgement.

Lindsay Lohan, who is currently in rehab at the Betty Ford Center in California, has been dropped from the biopic Inferno and will no longer be playing famed porn star Linda Lovelace.

“We are withdrawing our offer from Lindsay Lohan.”

The director added that the decision to cut Lindsay, 24, was not personal:

I’m verrrrryyyy interested to see what Dina Lohan has to say about this. I think the director made the right move. At this rate, Lindsay could be in rehab for the rest of her life.

William and Kate are planning a summer of 2011 wedding, which will most likely be the biggest royal wedding since Diana married Prince Charles almost thirty years ago in 1981.

Prince’s fiancée is the current owner of a gorgeous engagement ring, which includes a 18-carat sapphire surrounded by 14 smaller white diamonds, previously worn by Princess Diana. Prince William explains why he decided to give his fiancée Diana’s ring.

“It is very special to me,” William told press at St. James’ Palace Tuesday. “It was my way to make sure my mother did not miss out on today and the excitement that we are going to spend the rest of our lives together.”
He added of the engagement: “The timing is right now, we are both very, very happy.”

“Obviously, Diana’s ring is priceless, since it’s part of the royal family jewelry collection, but it also has deeper meaning for William and his family because it belonged to his mother,” O’Connor notes. “This is a sign of true love since William is showing the world that Kate is worthy of this special ring… It’s the ideal piece of heirloom jewelry.”
