Elizabeth Edwards, John Edwards’ Wife, Died Of Breast Cancer At 61
Former VP candidate John Edwards’ wife, Elizabeth Edwards, who had recently decided to stop treatment, has passed away at her Chapel Hill home on Tuesday (December 7) after a long battle against breast cancer.
The 61 year-old was first diagnosed with cancer during the 2004 presidential campaign, while her husband, then Senator John Edwards, was the Democratic nominee for Vice President of the US. The cancer went into remission after surgery and resurfaced in 2007.

John and Elizabeth, who met when they were both attending the University of North Carolina School of Law, tied the knot in 1977 and had two children, a son named Wade and a daughter named Cate. The 16 year-old Cate died in a car accident back in 1996.

Elizabeth also had to deal with her husband’s transgressions when his extramarital affair with Rielle Hunter, with whom he had a love child, was exposed in 2008 during the presidential race. The couple finally separated after being married for more than 32 years in late 2009.

Mr. Jhon Edwards, is very sad to hear about the lost of your wife, I know that, only the person whom is going thru this, know how you fill. I finish to lost my husband after 42 years of married, and I can live with out of him.
I not agree with the comment of Jan Davis, this person critizice you, for what you do in life. Who judge us is God. We are human and make mistakes in life, but the important thing is learn to better person each day and make changes for your childrens.
Fill sorry for what happen, she rest in the grace of God. My advised is to trust in the Lord each second of your life and teach your childrens to be good and strong in faith like your wife. Believe in God and deliver your self to the Lord. Live the will of the Lord.
Not waist time to leasing to people who want to ofend you. Enjoy your children’s and look in each of them your wife. Remember that ” The battles in life are not always won by the strongest man, nor the most talented” ” Because you will find that in this world to encounter success it takes will power of man” Be close to the Lord and keep strong faith in life.
