Elton John and Husband Become Fathers to Baby Boy from California
Legendary singer Elton John and his partner/husband David Furnish are the proud parents of a baby boy from California. The baby was born on Christmas day via a surrogate and has been named Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John. (Talk about a mouth full!)
Levon is the name of a 1970 Elton John song.
John and Furnish are floored with excitement and their Christmas day bundle of joy:
“We are overwhelmed with happiness and joy at this very special moment,” John and his long-time partner, David Furnish, said in a statement. “Zachary is healthy and doing really well, and we are very proud and happy parents.”
Elton and David will call the baby Levon. He weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces at birth.
John and Furnish joined hands in a civil partnership back in 2005 in England. They have been together for 12 years.
I don’t have a problem with Elton and his partner being gay and adopting. I have a problem with Elton being 95-years old and adopting. Regardless, hopefully the pair can spend many years enjoying and raising little Levon.

Ummmm, the little boy isn’t adopted. He’s been born via a surrogate, which means that one of the two parents is probably the biological father. They also plan to call him Zachary, and have been doing so in the press. Elton is 62 and his partner is 48, so it is probably the partner who will raise the child into adulthood.
