Fellow Britney Spears fans, sit down and take a deep breath. The news I’m about to lay on you is fan-freakin-tastic: our pop princess is releasing a new single NEXT WEEK!

Miss Spears will be revealing her new song “Hold It Against Me” in a little over a week. Sharon Dastur, program director for New York City’s Z100 radio, heard the single and said she loves it:

“It’s produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin, and the beat that they give her is really unique compared to other artists — this infectious bass beat beneath the song. Plus, the hook is just amazing.”

Dastur added that the song will premiere January 7th, next Friday, and will precede Britney’s seventh studio album that is set for release in March.
