“The View” co-host Sherri Shepherd and her boyfriend, television writer Lamar Sally, are officially engaged to marry. The lovebirds have not set the date, but they plan to exchange vows in a summer wedding somewhere in Chicago.

Lamar is apparently a very traditional and romantic guy. Lamar first asked permission to marry the talk show host to her 5 year-old son Jeffrey and when they returned from a trip to San Diego he proposed. The ring box with the engagement rock was hidden inside Sherri’s bowl of M&Ms. Oh boy!
