‘True Grit’ Star Hailee Steinfeld Says Fame Won’t Change Her
True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld, 14, is a newcomer to the Hollywood scene, but she’s assured us that her new career won’t change her everyday life.
The actress said:
“I’m a normal girl. I get in trouble for texting too much and using the computer too late – all kinds of stuff like that.”
She recently picked up her first trophy as an actress at the People’s Choice Awards. She told reporters:
“I’m not getting used to it at all. This is so new to me. This is the beginning of it all and this is really exciting for me. I’m really honored to be a part of it.”
“Honestly, the biggest difference is that I’m a lot busier than I was. And I think that I haven’t changed as a person. If anything, the biggest change would be if I were to change, and I wouldn’t let that happen. I have amazing parents who have kept me grounded, and my brother and my whole family and everybody has been so supportive.”
Hailee, who plays Mattie Ross in the Coen brothers’ highly acclaimed film, said it has been interesting to adjust to the style teams fighting over her for red carpet appearances:
“It’s fun and it’s crazy because three months ago I would be doing my own hair and makeup and going crazy because I didn’t think it looked good.”
I love this girl! So down to earth and refreshing. Best of luck to you, Hailee!
