In this week’s issue of The Hollywood Reporter, Glee creator Ryan Murphy criticizes the band the Kings of Leon for turning down an opportunity to have their song “Use Somebody” featured on the show.

Murphy told the magazine:

“F— you, Kings of Leon. They’re self-centered a**holes, and they missed the big picture. They missed that a 7-year-old kid can see someone close to their age singing a Kings of Leon song, which will maybe make them want to join a glee club or pick up a musical instrument.”

On Wednesday, just hours after the Murphy quote hit the web, Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill Tweeted about the controversy, saying:

“Dear Ryan Murphy, let it go. See a therapist, get a manicure, buy a new bra. Zip your lip and focus on educating 7yr olds how to say f—.”

Naturally, Ryan took to his Twitter to respond back to the drummer:

“Just read Nathan Followill’s Tweet…in which he implied I should ‘get a manicure and buy a bra.’ Wow. That’s a homophobe badly in need of some education. I’m all for manicures, don’t wear a bra. Would guess most gay dudes don’t. But it’s telling that Nathan can reduce a group of people to a mean-spirited cliché, in a time where young gay men are killing themselves all over the country because of hatred like this.”

Wednesday afternoon, Followill apologized via Twitter:

“I’m sorry 4 anyone that misconstrued my comments as homophobic or misogynistic. I’m so not that kind of person. I really do apologize.”

Ryan Murphy should’ve never handled that the way he did, but you know what? The Kings of Leon were really stuck up about the fact that they didn’t want their music on the show. Don’t remember? Read the article HERE.

After reading the above article, I couldn’t stand their music anymore. Maybe I’m biased towards Glee? So what? And yes, I do think Followill was wrong for his Twitter comment. On a positive note, at least he apologized.

Actor Javier Bardem, grandson of actors Rafael Bardem and Matilde Munoz Sampedro, revealed that he had to work as a stripper before deciding that acting is what he really wanted to do. As he started winning more parts, Javier realized he had to honor his surname and had to quit taking his clothes off.

If I’m going to do this, I have to do it right because of my surname.’” He added: “What can I say, I am an actor, I wanna work, I’m a lucky b*****d! It’s the only thing I know how to do. I don’t have any other special skill. Believe me I’m nothing special.”

Singer/author/producer Jimmy Buffett was blinded by flashing lights, fell off the stage during a concert at Hordern Pavilion and had to be rushed to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sidney, Australia on Tuesday night (January 25).

According to audience members, the 64 year-old was unconscious for about five to ten minutes and had a huge gash on his head. Jimmy was doing an encore of “Lovely Cruise” when he was about to shake hands with someone as lights flashed and he literally walked off the stage.

Rosie O’Donnell told reporters at the Sundance Film Festival that she watches Teen Mom with her 13-year-old daughter.

O’Donnell said:

“My daughter is 13. I watch it with her. The rate of teenage pregnancy is up, so when my daughter saw that ['Teen Mom 2'] was on the air, I said ‘Let’s watch it.’”

The former talk show host said she uses the show as a learning experience for she and her daughter:

“At the end of almost every episode the mothers say they wish they used protection or waited, ‘My whole life is over,’ or ‘I can’t live the life of a teenager.’ I think it sends out a positive message.”

I’m gonna have to agree with Rosie on this one. I hear people say all the time that Teen Mom and 16 and Pregnant have a bad influence on teens, but I beg to differ. Even as a 20-year-old college student and an avid viewer, when I watch the show I’m forced to consider my current situation and make the realization that I’m not ready to have children. I’m a huge fan of the show and the message it sends teens; like Rosie explained, it’s an opportunity to learn a lesson.

The NFL star/reality star legally changed his last name from Johnson to Ochocinco, which was a nickname directly related to his jersey number 85, before the 2008 season. After two years, in an interview with ESPN’s Trey Wingo, Chad claims he is already tired of his catchy name (watch video below).

Ochocinco’s days are numbered. Chad promises he will make the legal change soon since “I’ve done enough with the Ocho thing.” The name is immortalized by appearances in reality shows like Dancing With The Stars and Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch.

Boxer Mike Tyson and his wife Lakiha Spicer Tyson welcomed a healthy baby boy named Morocco Elijah Tyson, who weighed in at 8 lbs and 13 oz. and measured 19 inches long, in Henderson, Nevada on Tuesday (January 25).

The couple, who already have a 2 year-old daughter named Milan, are reportedly very happy and excited with the arrival of the new bundle of joy after the tragic death of the boxer’s 4 year-old daughter Exodus, who died in an accident with a treadmill at home back in May of 2009.

Lakiha and Mike tied the knot a couple of weeks after the tragic accident in June 2009.

No Doubt’s Tony Kanal and his longtime girlfriend Erin Lokitz have welcomed a healthy baby girl named Coco Reese Lakshmi Kanal on Monday (January 24). The 40 year-old proud daddy posted a message on the band’s official website titled “Tony + Erin = Coco”.

Tony wrote, “Welcome to the world our gorgeous daughter – Coco Reese Lakshmi Kanal. She entered our lives on January 24, 2011. Mom, Dad and Baby are happy and in love.”

Coco is the sixth No Doubt baby and the first No Doubt baby girl. Adrian Young has a 8 year-old son named Mason, Tom Dumont has two sons, 2 year-old Rio and 4 year-old Ace, and another baby on the way (baby #7!), while Gwen Stefani is the mother 2 year-old Zuma and 4 year-old Kingston.

Actress Penelope Cruz and her husband, actor Javier Bardem, have welcomed a baby boy, whose name remains a mystery (… for now!), at the Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles California on Saturday (January 22).

According to Spanish media, Penelope’s close family, including mother, brother Eduardo Cruz and sister Monica Cruz, and Javier’s mother recently flew in from Spain for the birth.

Penelope and Javier, who met on the set of “Jamon, Jamon” back in 1992, secretly tied the knot in July of 2010, shortly before the 36 year-old actress debuted a baby bump while shooting the fourth movie of the “Pirates of The Caribbean” in September 2010.
