MTV “Skins” star Sofia Black-D’Elia, who plays a lesbian teen on the teen show, passionately defends the racy and controversial content of the show, claiming it’s pushing society boundaries, but portrays the teen reality nowadays.

Sofia says, “It’s pushing the boundaries for teen drama because I think Skins goes where other shows are afraid to.”

“It’s what teens are doing. It’s the way teenagers believe, I think, especially you know in certain situations when you come from home lives where your parents don’t really support you or really listen to you. That’s what most of these kids are going through. And so, um, the drugs and the sex, they’re vices, and that’s what teenagers have.”

“Skins” achieved the highest rate for a new scripted series in the 12 to 34 demo during the premiere on Monday night (January 17). The Parent Television Council was absolutely shocked by explicit content of the MTV series and asked for a federal investigation regarding the possible violation of several child pornography laws.

Actress Zsa Zsa Gabor, who recently had her leg amputated, was released from the hospital on Saturday afternoon (January 22) and has finally returned home with her husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt.

The 93 year-old actress was ordered by the doctors to stay in bed for at least the next couple of months, where she will be monitored by a nurse 24/7. The leg amputation prevented an infection from spreading to vital organs, saving the glamorous star’s life.

Our thought and prayers are with Zsa Zsa. We wish her a quick and fast recovery.

Rumor has it Regis Philbin didn’t “retire” from Live with Regis and Kelly, he quit after executives told his agent they would cut his salary when his current contract expired.

Apparently, Regis’ agent, Jim Griffin, was told that after the talk show star’s pay would be taking a cut due to the show not performing as well as it had in the past….and also due to the fact that Regis takes a lot of time off.

Regis was reportedly so angry about the new changes, he quit the show. Oh, and he fired his agent. Ouch!

It was first reported that Regis told Kelly Ripa of his plan to leave the show 15 minutes before airtime. It was initially reported that Kelly was stunned at this news. Reports are now surfacing that Kelly was furious with Regis. As one source said:

“She felt it showed a total lack of respect for her.”

And not only is Kelly angry, the entire production staff is angry at Regis’ selfish behavior.

It’s said that Regis has been making between $18 and $20 million a year. Is it really necessary for a 79-year-old man to quit over millions of dollars? Please. Spare me, Regis.

“We both feel that in our engagement, we have a union that’s really special and cant be broken. It’s a sacred bond.”

“The wedding would be nice for our family, our friends, our community — our moms especially — and so it puts us in the fight. We can’t get married until [gay] marriage is legal and equal…I think giving people the right to marry will be a huge movement in civil rights.”

Jason then went on to gush about Tristan, saying:

“You just know. I knew it when we first met years ago. We grew up to be each other’s dream person. She is definitely my dream girl.”

MSNBC has said goodbye to Keith Olbermann by terminating his contract with the liberal cable news network.

Olbermann’s last appearance on ‘Countdown with Keith Olbermann’ will be tonight. Olbermann was at MSNBC for eight years. The Olbermann and O’Reilly show would be must-see television. It might even give Bill O’Reilly the highest cable news ratings….wait he already dominates the ratings.

Ratings, or lack there of, likely led to the decision by MSNBC and Olbermann.

If the world had a sense of humor, Fox News would announce the hiring of Olbermann to a 5-year contract at 8am in the morning.

MTV’s racy teen show “Skins” is the new target of the Parents Television Council due to several references to drugs and alcohol and its sexually charged nature. The PTC sent a letter to the Department of Justice and US Senate and House Judiciary Committees to ask for a federal investigation into potential child pornography violations.

“In addition to the sexual content on the show involving cast members as young as 15, PTC counted 42 depictions and references to drugs and alcohol in the premiere episode,” the group wrote in a letter to the government organizations.

“It is clear that Viacom has knowingly produced material that may well be in violation of [several anti-child pornography laws],” added the PTC, which earlier called the show “the most dangerous program ever for children.”

According to Hollywood Reporter, Viacom already ordered the show’s producers to tone it down, while MTV executives allegedly met to discuss the possible child porn law violation issue earlier this week.

A rep for MTV said in a statement, “Skins is a show that addresses real-world issues confronting teens in a frank way. We review all of our shows and work with all of our producers on an ongoing basis to ensure our shows comply with laws and community standards. We are confident that the episodes of ‘Skins’ will not only comply with all applicable legal requirements, but also with our responsibilities to our viewers.”

Meanwhile, Taco Bell has already pulled the ads from the controversial teen show. A rep stated, “Upon further review, we’ve decided that the show is not a fit for our brand and have moved our advertising to other MTV programming.”
