Ironically, Democrat Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, who was one of the targets of her political action committee SarahPAC (picture below), was shot and is currently in critical condition at a local hospital after emergency surgery.

President Barack Obama is absolutely shocked by the “unspeakable tragedy” (see video above) in Tucson Arizona, which left a 40 year-old Democrat, Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, fighting for her life with a gunshot wound to the head and killed District Judge John Roll along with other 12 injured and 5 dead American citizens.

President Barack Obama said in a statement:

“This morning, in an unspeakable tragedy, a number of Americans were shot in Tucson, Arizona, at a constituent meeting with Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. And while we are continuing to receive information, we know that some have passed away, and that Representative Giffords is gravely wounded. We do not yet have all the answers. What we do know is that such a senseless and terrible act of violence has no place in a free society. I ask all Americans to join me and Michelle in keeping Representative Giffords, the victims of this tragedy, and their families in our prayers.”

Arizona Senator John McCain, who battled Obama in the last elections, released the following statement:

“I am horrified by the violent attack on Representative Gabrielle Giffords and many other innocent people by a wicked person who has no sense of justice or compassion. I pray for Gabby and the other victims, and for the repose of the souls of the dead and comfort for their families. I beg our loving Creator to spare the lives of those who are still alive, heal them in body and spirit, and return them to their loved ones. Whoever did this; whatever their reason, they are a disgrace to Arizona, this country and the human race, and they deserve and will receive the contempt of all decent people and the strongest punishment of the law.”

Congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords, reportedly suffered a gunshot wound to the head and District Judge John Roll has died when a crazy man carrying a pistol with extended magazine started shooting while she was hosting an event at a Safeway grocery store in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday (January 8).

The 40 year-old Democrat was quickly taken to the hospital for emergency surgery. Giffords is currently out of surgery, but her doctors expect her to recover. A hospital surgeon revealed that she was shot one time in the head, through and through, adding, “We cannot tell what kind of recovery, but I’m about as optimistic as it can get in this situation.”

Pima County Sheriff’s Department, Richard J. Kastigar, claimed 18 people were injured (9 of them were allegedly rushed into surgery) and at least 5 people, including a 9 year-old girl, were killed by the young gunman, who has been identified as Jared Lee Loughner.

The suspect claims he acted alone and has revealed a motive for the brutal attack. This is absolutely crazy and unexplainable. This lunatic must be harshly punished for his crimes.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, Judge John Roll’s family and with all the victims of the Tucson shooting and their families.

Britney took to her Twitter account to explain to her fans the demo is real, but they will have to wait until Tuesday (January 11) to listen to the official version of “Hold It Against Me.” Mark your calendars: January 11, 2011.

The 29 year-old tweeted, “Heard an early demo of my new single leaked. If u think that’s good, wait til you hear the real one Tuesday.” Britney also added the official cover art for the first single off her seventh studio album to be released in March 2011.

Actress Sandra Bullock, who divorced her cheating husband and adopted a baby last year, and her “The Proposal” co-star, actor Ryan Reynolds, who seems to not have been treated like he deserved by estranged wife Scarlett Johansson, have been spending a whole lot of time together. The two longtime friends are clearly falling for each other.

Jesse James is out of the way. Ryan and Scarlett filed for divorce a couple of days before Christmas. So Ryan and Sandra spend New Year’s Eve at her restaurant called Bess Bistro in Austin, Texas, where the two allegedly kissed at midnight, drank champagne and left the party at 2 am.

“Sandra planned all along to spend New Year’s at the restaurant with friends,” says the insider. “And she was thrilled that Ryan accepted her invitation to join in.”

“I’m sure they’ve bonded over the breakups,” a Reynolds insider tells Us. “Going through a divorce is a unique thing to live through. Ryan always got excited talking about Sandra and liked being around her.”

It’s on! Sandra and Ryan have been through really tough break ups and they found someone to lean on. Friendship is beautiful. Ryan and Sandra have a lot in common. They value their privacy and they seem to both want to start a real family.

A 53 year-old homeless man named Ted Williams, who claimed to have a “God-given voice”, has become a YouTube sensation overnight, after being caught demonstrating his radio-announcer skills on camera (watch video below).

The homeless dude panhandling on the streets of Columbus, Ohio, held a sign declaring “I have a God-given voice”. Ted was working on the radio before he was forced to live on the street, but confessed alcohol and drugs completely destroyed his life.

Ted is a new man. He is clean and ready to leave the streets for a chance at redemption. Ted has a couple of job offers from Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Golden voice wants to make his NINE children (7 girls and 2 boys) and mother proud.

Ted left the Today Show with a message to everyone at home: “Don’t judge a book by its cover – everyone has their own little story. If you’re going to give to a homeless person, give from the heart.”.
