The big ‘C’ takes another victim — Cake Boss‘ Sal Picinich died Sunday of cancer. He was 63.

Sal worked for more than 40 years in the Carlo’s Bakery in Hoboken, N.J, alongside Buddy “The Cake Boss” Valastro — who admired Sal like a father.

TLC released a statement regarding the loss:

“TLC was saddened to learn of the passing of Sal Picinich, a beloved Carlo’s Bakery employee featured on Cake Boss,”

“We join Buddy Valastro and the entire Carlo’s crew in sending Sal’s family our sincerest condolences.”

TLC bid one last farewell to Sal on Monday night’s episode.
