Rocker Steven Tyler’s daughter Mia Tyler, a former plus-size model turned photographer, is very proud of her father in the role of new American Idol judge and actually believes her daddy is saving FOX’s hit show.

According to Mia, Simon Cowell’s mean attitude was getting old and boring after nine seasons. Idol needed a breath of fresh air and that’s exactly why new judges, Steven and Jennifer Lopez, were chosen.

“We’re a very sarcastic family,” Mia explains to Life & Style. “He’s the funniest man I know. He’s saving the show because it was kind of boring before. There’s only so many times you can watch Simon be mean to people.”

“It’s so nice to see him up there,” says Mia. “He loves it!”

As for Steven in the role of father at home, Mia confessed, “He’s very much a dad when he’s home. He’s very protective and gets mad at us for not cleaning the catlitter box — typical dad stuff.”

Lucky Mia! Not every girl can say their dad is a major rock star and an American Idol judge. The 62 year-old Aerosmith frontman, who went through a difficult rehabilitation process for heavy drugs and alcohol abuse back in 1986, is a new man after checking into rehab for painkillers addiction back in 2009.
