“American Idol†contestant, John Wayne Schulz, an original cowboy, caused quite an impression with his country rendition of “Believe†at American Idol season 10 audition in Austin, Texas on Wednesday (February 2)- watch audition video HERE.
The 23 year-old told the pretty story of a country boy getting out of the ranch for the first time to try his luck on the big Idol stage, but this story isn’t exactly true. American Idol producers apparently “forgot†to mention John Wayne has already released an album at the age of 14 (see pictures below).
One of the songs featured on the album was even considered for seven Grammy nominations. John Wayne had a real promising career in music before he was forced to quit for his religious beliefs.
The CEO of John Wayne’s old record label tells John only recorded that one album – explaining, “He’s of Mormon faith, and he had to go on his church mission. He was gone for two years, and we just weren’t able to reconnect once he returned.”
Do you feel cheated by American Idol? Or the fact John Wayne once released an album does not change his condition on Idol? In my opinion, John’s “experience†in the music industry doesn’t change anything. The next American Idol will be chosen by the fans.
