There will be LOTS of drama. There will be SHOCKING eliminations. It will be one of the most emotional and most entertaining episodes ever. According to Idol’s executive producer Nigel Lythgoe, the Beatles Challenge in Las Vegas was cut from 2 hours to one to make room for another hour of the Green Mile extravaganza.

Nigel tweeted, “Because of all the Drama in the #AmericanIdol green mile show we have been asked to cut the Beatles Vegas Challenge to 1 hour instead of 2!! #AmericanIdol on Wednesday is a 1 hour Beatle Challenge and then 1 hour of choosing the top 20 up until JLo breaks down and can’t continue!”

American Idol 10 Green Mile: Top 20 Becomes Top 24 (SPOILERS)

So on Wednesday (February 23), Idol will include only one hour of the Beatles Challenge and another hour of the “Green Mile” set to end with Chris Medina’s heartbreaking elimination. On Thursday (February 24), Idol offers us two hours of judges’ deliberations. YAWN.

During the Beatles Challenge, the Top 60 contestants from Hollywood Week performed songs from Cirque de Soleil’s Beatles-themed show “Love” on a big stage in Las Vegas. The Top 60 became Top 40 before the judges have to make the final decision and pick the final 12 guys and 12 girls.

After a long and painful journey on Idol, Chris Medina was sent home and Jacee Badeaux’s dreams were shattered. Do you remember Jacee? The cute 15 year-old who looked like a 12 year-old overweight version of Justin Bieber? Jacee is incredibly talented, but he broke down when he was kicked off his group by Clint Jun Gamboa during Hollywood Week’s group round. Jacee, keep dreaming! We LOVE you!

The super sweet Hollie Cavanagh was also eliminated. The girl who impressed the judges with a rendition of Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb” during her first audition (watch video HERE) is not mature enough to handle so much pressure. We hope to see her again soon.

Is American Idol’s Cowboy John Wayne Schulz A Fraud?

NOW. THE MOST SHOCKING ELIMINATION: John Wayne Schulz, our favorite cowboy, who recorded his first album as a child, sang “Landslide” beautifully during the Hollywood Week’s last solo sound, but that was not enough to put him in the Top 24. I. Can. Not. Believe. It. However, I had predicted it would be rather surprising if both John Wayne and Scotty McCreery made it to the Top 13.

Other contestants eliminated on the Green Mile episode include Jessica Cunningham, Eryn Kelly, Jackie Wilson and Keisha Lewis, who was allegedly disqualified over a contract violation.
