Chelsea Handler Cast In NBC Pilot Based On Her Own Life
Chelsea Handler has created an empire! She’s a late night talk show host, best-selling author, and now, she’s joining the pilot of an NBC show based on….herself!

The show is based off of Chelsea’s best-seller ‘Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea.’ But she won’t be reliving her time as a cocktail waitress, which is what the book is about. She’ll be playing her older, more well-behaved sister.

Laura Prepon, of That 70′s Show fame, will be stepping in as a younger Chelsea. Laura said she’s hopeful that the show will get picked up for a full season:
“We start in a couple weeks. I hope NBC gets behind it. There’s a lot of buzz. It’s different and edgy.”
She added that she feels like she and Chelsea have a lot of similarities:
I’m from Jersey. Chelsea and I are similar, so it’s perfect we play sisters. It’s funny, because her vodka is my favorite vodka, too. We both drink the same thing!”
Filipino American standup comedian Jo Koy (who you may recognize from Chelsea’s show on E!, Chelsea Lately) has been cast as a bartender who works at the bar where Prepon’s character is a waitress.
Great casting! I can’t wait to see this!
