Was James Franco Stoned Hosting the 83rd Academy Awards? (Poll)

This year, celebs shinning on the red carpet include one name that is not usually on our best dressed list – Gwyneth Paltrow, who looked amazing in a simple and modern Calvin Klein creation. She was like a breath of fresh air among all the hair updos and big glamorous gowns.

Reese Witherspoon also looked gorgeous in a classy strapless Armani Privé long black dress. On the other hand, Nicole Kidman disappointed with a dramatic and ill fitted Dior gown. As for Cate Blanchett, I cannot even begin to understand what is going on with that Givenchy dress, but I like the color.

How Did Gwyneth Paltrow Do Singing at the 83rd Oscars? (Poll)

Gwyneth Paltrow is for sure a very talented actress. She has also tried dabbling in music several times over her career as an entertainer.  In her latest film, Country Strong, she sang the Oscar nominated ‘Coming Home,’ which was nominated for an Oscar Sunday night.

Her performance was panned harshly on Twitter during and after her performance.  Others were more kind, in part, because they claim Gwyneth is one of the nicest people in Hollywood.  That really shouldn’t taint her performance though, good or bad!

Gwyneth won an Academy Award in 1998 for her acting in Shakespeare in Love.

So you get to decide. Was Gwyneth’s Oscars performance of ‘Coming Home’ that bad or pretty good for an Oscar award winning actress?

Quote of the Day: Ronald Reagan

“Thomas Jefferson once said, ‘We should never judge a president by his age, only by his works.’ And ever since he told me that, I stopped worrying.”

40th president of US (1911 – 2004)

Was James Franco Stoned Hosting the 83rd Academy Awards? (Poll)

It was a performance that left many viewers of the 83rd Academy Awards wishing for the days of Bob Hope or Billy Crystal as host. Anne Hathaway seemed to be trying really hard, perhaps too hard at times, to do the best she could.  Her co-host James Franco appeared well STONED, unattached to what was happening, and disinterested.

What did you think of Franco while watching the awards show? Vote below!

The Bumpshack consensus is that Franco was higher than oil prices.  His performance as co-host didn’t bowl us over either.

She said:

“I’ve got a shelf full [of awards].”

“I have come with a light and happy heart today hoping that they will call some other girl’s name and I can applaud and enjoy their speech and one thing and another. I’m thrilled to be here.”

She added that she’s honored to be with such a talented group of women in the Supporting Actress category, especially referring to True Grit‘s Hailee Steinfeld:

“I’ve seen all the other work of the other women and girls — because one of them, an amazing actor as she is, is yet a girl — and it’s an astonishing group of women, and I am honored to be among them.”

Worst Dressed: Melissa Leo At Oscars Red Carpet 2011

It’s not too early to call this one of the worst dresses on the red carpet!

Actress Melissa Leo proudly wore a white Mark Bouwer gown on the red carpet of the 83rd Annual Academy Awards (Oscars) held at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, California on Sunday (February 27)- more pictures below.

Oscars 2011 SPOILERS: Billy Crystal, Presenters & Performers

The color is just right, but that dress makes me cringe… it looks like crochet or a project gone bad for some amateur designers’r’us class. Melissa apparently had that dress costum made. Oh boy! The dress could be perfect for a beach party – not the Oscars!

2011 Oscar Winners: Who Wins the Academy Awards?

The 50 year-old is nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in the movie “The Fighter”, which is also up for Best Supporting Actor (Christian Bale) and Best Picture. Melissa will most likely beat her co-star Amy Adams and take the Oscar home.

Jesse Eisenberg Admits To Lying About Having A Facebook

Jesse Eisenberg, star of the Social Network, has admitted that he was lying a bit when he said he’d never had a Facebook page.

Jesse Eisenberg Says “It Was Wonderful” Meeting Facebook Creator Mark Zuckerberg

Just to clear things up, Jesse never actually had a Facebook page under his own identity. He actually created one under someone else’s identity: Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! host Peter Sagal.

‘The Social Network’ Star Jesse Eisenberg For Vanity Fair

During an interview on NPR, he told Sagal about his creation:

“I had never seen Facebook and then I was rehearsing for the movie and I was, my character was discussing all of these things that I didn’t know anything about. So I got a Facebook page while I was listening to this show and I didn’t want to use my own name, so I used your name.”

“So the account was deleted soon thereafter.”

Jesse went on to admit that it always annoyed him when people would imitate him on Facebook:

“It never occurred to me until they asked me to do this show, that I had done that to somebody. And I apologize you know, if, you have experienced any strange looks.”

He’s so damn awkward. I LOVE IT.

Singer Adele Says She Doesn’t Rely On Her Looks

Adele just released her most recent album 21 in the US this past week, and she’s assured us that she’s not relying on her looks to sell albums.

Adele Sings “Someone Like You” At 2011 BRIT Awards (VIDEO)

In an interview, she said:

“No-one’s ever told me to lose weight or anything like that. I don’t rely on my tits to have hits.

“How I look has never been a big part of my life. I’ve never looked at a magazine and thought, ‘that’s how I need to look if I want to be successful in life’.

“If you compare the way I look to big artists like, say, Katy Perry, I’m living proof it’s all about the music because there’s nothing else I’m relying on to do well.”

The 22-year-old did say she’s branching out and trying to experiment with her wardrobe more:

“I’m trying to make more of an effort with my style.

“I’m a woman now. I like wearing three-quarter length dresses and things because I don’t like having my thighs out, but I am trying new things.”

I wanted to post these quotes because I admire Adele so much. I love everything about her; her looks, her music, her style. She’s always herself and never seems to question who she is as a person. What a great role model for women and girls alike.

Charo Says Lady GaGa Is “Madonna With Diarrhea”

Since the release of her latest single ‘Born This Way,’ Lady GaGa has come under attack for “copying” Madonna‘s style and music. Now, Spanish singer Charo is putting in her two cents.

Lady GaGa “Born This Way” vs. Madonna “Express Yourself”

Charo spoke with Sirius XM’s OutQ radio show with Frank DeCaro and had quite an opinion on GaGa:

“I can tell you, to me, Lady Gaga is Madonna with diarrhea. I don’t like it when somebody copies somebody and just adopt it. Like, their own idea.”

Charo, honey. What exactly does that mean? Not that you’ve ever made sense, but come on, I can’t find an inkling of sense in that statement. Time for you to get back on the Love Boat.
