Two exotic beauties hit the carpet of the 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards held at Santa Monica Beach on Saturday (February 26). Actresses Zoe Saldana and Rosario Dawson both chose to spice it up a bit by playing with animal prints (more pictures below).

And the end result is fresh, fun and casual chic. Those are not outfits meant for an Oscar-type of night, but super cute for a less informal venue. Although I do not love those dresses, we’ve got to recognize anything would look incredible when you have an incredible figure like these two.

“Black Swan” and “Winter’s Bone” were the big winners at the 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards held at Santa Monica Beach on Saturday (February 26).

For the first time, “The King’s Speech” did not dominate the night since it only won the Best Foreight Movie, the only category it was nominated for. This gave the opportunity for others to shine.

“Black Swan” took home the award for Best Feature, Best Director (Darren Aronofsky) and Best Cinematography in addition to Best Female Lead (Natalie Portman). Oscar host James Franco was named Best Male Lead for his role in “127 Hours”.

Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones was allegedly punched in the face by a paparazzo and her husband, actor Michael Douglas, confronted the guy as a knight in shining armor just outside their hotel in London, England on Thursday night (February 24).

The confrontation was all caught on tape by ET (watch video below). Paparazzi were impatiently waiting for Catherine and Michael’s arrival at the hotel’s front door. The couple had to sail through the paps to enter. Then, Catherine started screaming and yelling “He punched me! I want a police officer right now. He punched me!”

Michael talked to his wife, who was secure in the lobby, and came to the door to confront the paparazzo in question. Catherine continued to scream “He punched me!”. Michael called the guy and a-hole and ordered him to get the hell out in a not so polite manner.

The actor’ rep, Allen Burry, tells ET, “You saw it for yourself. Otherwise, the trip and the ceremony were fabulous and such a joy for everyone.”

Michael and Catherine were returning from a Royal ceremony, during which the actress was honored for film and charitable achievements with the Commander of the Order of the British Empire title. Congrats, Catherine!

The 31 year-old politely declined to appear in the US version of the show on ABC, but that has nothing to do with his taste in women – Maks loves him some all American girls! Maksim took to his blog to explain why a Bachelor in Ukraine and not the US – here’s what he had to say:

“The fact that I’ve turned down the American version has NOTHING to do with my ‘dislike’ of American women”, Maksim wrote. “A first season would be the most ‘real’ as far as participant’s perception of ‘what it’s all about’ is concerned. I thought about everything VERY long. I’ve spoken to my family. I’ve spoken to people around me and decided that this might be something to try and see ‘how it’ll work’. I’m going into this with a thought of ‘why not?’.”

“I feel good about the fact that I can ‘give back’. My family and I left when I was very young and to have made something of myself. To come back here as a person to be looked up to is an amazing feeling.” He added, “This is the first thing in a VERY LONG TIME that I’m doing for ME. For the first time I don’t really care what people think.”

So Maksim is basically saying the US version has become a “fake” featuring people desperately seeking fame.You know Maks. He likes to show off. He will become the first Bachelor in Ukraine, where he probably already is a superstar after his US success on the dance floor.

“Teen Mom” star Amber Portwood was completely shocked and devastated when she found out nude pictures of her posing like a sexy pin-up wannabe were leaked by someone close to her.

“I want to surprise them,” Portwood explains. “Those pics were taken for personal reasons. I didn’t send them to anyone. I didn’t take them for sexual reasons. This is embarrassing enough. It’s just weird. The person who did this is f***ed.”.

In my humble opinion, the element of surprise cannot be used since Amber has already told every tabloid that would hear her she will sue the little pervert’s booty. Go girl!

“Franco’s so beyond cool that a lot of people who would have scooted up to Madonna’s will more than likely do the Governors Ball, Vanity Fair and then James’s bash, because they’re all quite close.”

Here’s what I’m thinkin’: all the musicians in attendance will attend Madonna’s (probably because they’ll be scared of what will happen if they don’t) and all the actors will attend Franco’s. I’d choose Franco any day. Plus, he’s the host of the show. It wouldn’t be classy to miss his bash.

On the script:

“We’ve done some script readings, but they haven’t finalized the script. For me and Anne (Hathaway), I think it will feel like it went by really fast by the time that we’re done. There’s a lot to do, and when you do live shows, it goes by really fast.”

On his four tuxes, designed by Gucci (who is also the face for):

“They’ve been incredibly supportive,” says Franco, who is so enamored by the Italian fashion house, he pitched Gucci creative director Frida Giannini about making a documentary on how she works. “I think what they do over there is so interesting and has got such a great spirit.”

On if he’s nervous:

“No. You mean all the eyeballs around the world? The camera’s the camera, whether there’s five people watching or a billion.”

On what he’s done to prepare:

“I’ve watched all of Jack Nicholson‘s acceptance speeches, and they’re always really funny. They’re always really interesting because he thanks people you wouldn’t expect him to thank, and then makes you go look them up and wonder what the connection is.”

On his plan to avoid Ricky Gervais‘ jokes:

“I haven’t really read about the fallout of Ricky Gervais. I was there and I didn’t think he was that funny. The jokes were kind of — gay Scientology jokes? South Park did that like five years ago. So I don’t really want to do Ricky Gervais style.”

Laura Prepon, of That 70′s Show fame, will be stepping in as a younger Chelsea. Laura said she’s hopeful that the show will get picked up for a full season:

“We start in a couple weeks. I hope NBC gets behind it. There’s a lot of buzz. It’s different and edgy.”

She added that she feels like she and Chelsea have a lot of similarities:

I’m from Jersey. Chelsea and I are similar, so it’s perfect we play sisters. It’s funny, because her vodka is my favorite vodka, too. We both drink the same thing!”

Filipino American standup comedian Jo Koy (who you may recognize from Chelsea’s show on E!, Chelsea Lately) has been cast as a bartender who works at the bar where Prepon’s character is a waitress.
