“The Bachelor” contestant Shawntel Newton, a 25 year-old embalmer and funeral director, was dumped by Brad Womack after reveling she was in love with him during their hometown date in her hometown of Chico, California.

Poor Shawntel. She was clearly excited to show Brad what she did for a living and get him to lay down on the embalming table, which totally scared Brad, who confessed to not deal well with death (watch video here). Death is Shawntel’s life.

“Brad was totally creeped out by my profession,” Shawntel tells In Touch. “You could just see it from the look on his face.” “Knowing that I grew up in the [funeral home] business, and may very well take over my dad’s side of the partnership, he said, ‘I don’t know if I could even deal with death myself,’” she says. “I think it was an eye-opener for him.”

The bachelorette planed to take over the family business, the Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home, but she would have changed everything for Brad. Shawntel was heartbroken. They were just not meant to be together. Brad was totally freaking out as she explained how much she enjoyed her line of work.

“I’m proud of my profession,” she shares. “Whomever I wind up with will accept that, and unfortunately, I haven’t found that guy. I realized Brad and I weren’t meant to be together.”

Shawntel might be proud, but it’s certainly not easy to find a man who is up for the challenge of being married to a funeral director. Of Brad’s choices, Shawntel realized he made the right choice and thinks he is completely in love with Emily Maynard.

Shawntel said, “I thought Ashley H. was going home. I knew that she hadn’t told him that she was falling in love, and I had. It was a shock that he’d let a girl go who was in love and willing to leave her life. But my personal opinion is that he is in love with Emily and has been for a while. Emily’s everything he wants. He wants to be a father to her child. She wants to get married and have more kids.”
