Former Spice Girl, Melanie Brown (aka Mel B. aka Scary Spice), confirmed she is pregnant with her husband Stephen Belafonte’s baby. The baby is due this summer and the couple couldn’t be happier to be expanding the family.

The 35 year-old singer confessed that they don’t know the baby’s gender yet and she is not even sure she wants to know. Mel is happy to finally be able to share the pregnancy experience with the father of her child, which is something she wasn’t able to fully enjoy before.

“Both my pregnancies have been lucky and happy and exciting, no matter what situation I’ve been in. This is different because we have been married for four years, we have a history together, we’re best friends, we’re in it together, and he’s totally supportive,” Brown explains.

She adds, “I like the feeling of being pregnant. I like being able to just eat something if I’m craving it. I definitely do put on weight [during pregnancy] but I think you’re meant to when you’re pregnant. I think it’s healthy.”

Mel already has two daughters, 12 year-old Phoenix and 3 year-old Angel Iris, from previous relationships with Dutch dancer Jimmy Gulzar and Eddie Murphy, respectively. Stephen also has a 7 year-old daughter named Giselle. Mel and Stephen secretly tied the knot in Las Vegas back in 2007.

Three of the five original Spice Girls are currently pregnant. Baby Spice Emma Bunton is expecting a baby boy in May and Posh Spice Victoria Beckham is expecting the Beckham’s first baby girl in July. Mel is also due this summer (“around July, August”).
