Wednesday, singer and fashion designer Gwen Stefani, 41, donated $1 million for Save the Children’s Japan Earthquake-Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund to assist the devastated country with their relief efforts.

She told reporters:

“I’ve been inspired by Japan for many years and have a true love, appreciation and respect for the Japanese people and their culture. The disaster in Japan is beyond heartbreaking, and I want to do anything I can to help. I would never be able to make a gesture like this without the love and support of all the fans over all these years.”

Next week, Stefani will also debut her L.A.M.B. Harajuku Lovers T-shirt through nodoubt.com. All proceeds from sales will go to assist the relief efforts as well.

Benjamin Millepied to the rescue! His fiance, and soon-to-be mother of his unborn child, Natalie Portman, may have won an Oscar for her performance in Black Swan, but critics are still questioning whether she was really dancing the part of a prima ballerina, or if a double was doing the work for her. Millepied, who actually choreographed the film, is now speaking up and defending Portman.

Millepied recently spoke to the Los Angeles Times about his relationship with Portman and his career in dance. The dancer personally trained his fiance for the film, and here’s what he had to say about her dancing:

“It was so believable, it was fantastic, that beautiful movement quality. There are articles now talking about her dance double that are making it sound like [Sarah Lane, her body double] did a lot of the work, but really, she just did the footwork, and the fouettés, and one diagonal [phrase] in the studio. Honestly, 85% of that movie is Natalie.”

Portman studied ballet until she was 13, which gave Millepied something to build on with his intricate choreography:

“[I made] things fluid and not too complicated.By getting more movement going, which in turn added to the camera movement — that is basically what I did. If we had kept things more classical, more restrained, less fluid, it would have been harder to trick the eye.”

The Huffington Post interviewed Kimberly Prosa, another one of Portman’s doubles, who also defended the leading actress:

“Natalie took class, she studied for several months, from the waist up is her. Sarah Lane, a soloist at ABT, did the heavy tricks, she did the fouéttes, but they only had her for a limited time, a couple of weeks, so I did the rest of whatever dance shots they needed.

“She [Portman] definitely put her work in. Just in a couple of months, she looked credible — all the dancers on the set were really impressed at how well she pulled that off — it was pretty amazing.”

If you’ve actually seen the movie, you can tell where Natalie is dancing and where she isn’t. It’s quite impressive, and I can’t think of any other actress who could’ve pulled it off better.

American Idol judge Steven Tyler did the unthinkable and pronounced who he thought deserves and will most probably win the tenth Idol title – Casey Abrams! – during an interview at the 2011 PaleyFest in Beverly Hills.

Steven said, “No wonder he was in the hospital, he’s getting cloned. That is where this guy is at, he just doesn’t care, he’s in a place called “F All” where you don’t care anymore and you let your stuff fly.”

Casey was described as the most talent musician ever on Idol since he can play several instruments, including his incredible voice. He has already been hospitalized twice to have blood transfusions because he suffers from a chronic condition known as ulcerative colitis.

Fellow judge Randy Jackson, who took Simon Cowell‘s spot as the mean judge, had to agree with the Aerosmith frontman before claiming it’s too early to make predictions.

Randy said, “He’s an amazing talented guy, we just hope he stays healthy and continues in the competition. You never know he’s definitely really amazingly talented. Being a bass player I love him. Still too early to tell.”

Randy and Steven both agreed this is probably the best season of Idol so far because they have so many talented singers with different styles. My favorites are Casey and Paul McDonald, but Jacob Lusk and Pia Toscano are also a powerful front-runners.

“There’s tons of sex in that film. We didn’t even bother putting clothes on between scenes,” he said. “I had quite a full-on sex scene with a 75-year-old Japanese guy. We’re kissing, and I remember going, He’s got a mustache and that’s kind of weird. Oh! That’s definitely a scrotum. That’s odd.”

Ewan also showed his versatility when he engaged in love scenes with fellow actor Jim Carrey in their movie “I Love Phillip Morris”. In the name of romance, Ewan is willing to do absolutely anything and push the limits.

“I’m always interested in playing different people, in different situations. It doesn’t matter to me whether someone is in love with a man or a woman. I find the idea of love and romance interesting. I’m a sucker for it. I like playing someone who’s falling in love because I like the sensation of it.”

The truth is Ewan is not comfortable with nude scenes as he approaches 40. There’s nothing wrong with that, but Ewan should know he is still definitely hot.

The royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, which will take place on April 29, will be made available for the public to download on iTunes within hours of the actual ceremony. This will be the fastest album release ever to to be handled by Universal Music.
