American Idol alum, Jason Castro, and his wife, Mandy Mayhall, have announced on his official website that they are expecting their first child together, a baby girl, in August.

The 24 year-old Jason gave his fans a quick update before announcing the big news. He wrote:

Now, I am excited to announce that there will be a new addition to the Castro family! My wife and I are expecting our first child this August. We just found out yesterday that it is going to be a girl! haha that makes me laugh… what am i going to do with a sweet little girl?! probably just smile alot… i cannot wait!!!

It’s an exciting time, Im in a happy place. so thankful for the presence of God in my life! Anyways, Ill keep ya posted… I’ve got a soundcheck to get to!

Jason, who married Mandy in January of 2010, also proudly posted the first picture of their baby girl with the caption: “Baby Castro” (picture below). Jason’s first full album “Who I Am” is out now.
