Lauren Alaina decided to take a small risk by performing Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb” from “Hannah Montana: The Movie” at the American Idol season 10 Top 8 live show dedicated to songs from the movies on Wednesday (April 13)- watch video below.

Jennifer Lopez loved it, of course. She said there was some sort of tear in Lauren’s voice and she sang beautifully. Randy Jackson proclaimed Lauren is back and thought she made the song her own. Steven Tyler (blah!) said it was beautiful and it moved him beyond tears.

I don’t know what the heck they were so happy about? Lauren is a good singer, but that performance was pretty dull. Yeah, Lauren probably is a better singer (or less annoying!) than Miley can ever be… but Miley has the spunk, energy and confidence to rock it. Lauren just looked a sad and insecure little girl.
