Jacob Lusk delivered an emotional rendition of Luther Vandross‘ “Dance With My Father” (2003) at the American Idol season 10 Top 7 live show dedicated to songs from the 21st century on Wednesday (April 20)- watch video below.
Steven Tyler said Jacob reminds him all the time why he loves music. Blah. Jennifer Lopez said it’s hard to perform a song when it means so much to you, meaning Jacob was not able to control his vocals. Randy Jackson thought that emotionally it was a great performance, but vocally it was not impressive.
Oh, please! I’m sick of Jacob’s cheesiness. And stop calling him baby Luther. Jacob is not even close to being half of the artist Luther Vandross was. Respect Luther, please! Jacob lost his father when he was just 12 and that’s why the song meant so much to him. Jacob bores me. I really couldn’t see him on the radio right now. And if he was, I would turn it off.
