Actress/singer/author Gwyneth Paltrow, who was actually offered a record deal, confessed she is seriously thinking about starting a career in music after she realizes what type of artist she really wants to be in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres for The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday (April 22).

The 38 year-old is married to Coldplay’s Chris Martin and the two have two children, Apple and Moses. Gwyneth became a singing sensation when she played a fiction country singer, Kelly Canter, in the movie “Country Strong”, which was followed by successful appearances on FOX’s hit show, “Glee”.

Ellen: “The rumour is you have a record deal. Are you going to do an album?”
Gwyneth: “Well, I haven’t signed anything but I’m thinking about it. I kind of have to get my head around the concept of it and how I would want to do it. Do it in a right way. It’s hard to think of switching because all the signing I’ve been doing has been coming out of “Country Strong” or “Glee.” So I think, how would I do that? Just a record by myself feels a little scary to me. I would like to in theory but we’ll see.”

Ellen: “Since you’re doing different kinds of music on “Glee” than you did “Country Strong.” First you did the Country Music Awards, which you were amazing on then you did the Grammy’s. What kind of record would you put out?”
Gwyneth: “I like all kinds of music. I don’t think it would be a real poppy record.”
Ellen: “Not like a Britney Spears thing?”
Gwyneth: “Not totally. She’s cornered that market.”
