Remember back in January when Star Magazine published a cover story that read “Katie Drug Shocker!”? Well, after Katie Holmes read it, she filed a $50 MILLION defamation lawsuit against the magazine. Now, months later, the magazine is apologizing along with a charitable donation on the actress’ behalf.

The latest issue of Star is hitting stands with the headline ”Star Apologizes to Katie Holmes.” Inside the magazine, the apology is printed:

“Star did not intend to suggest that Ms. Holmes was a drug addict or was undergoing treatment for a drug addiction. Star apologizes to Ms. Holmes for any misperception.”

Holmes’ rep told reporters that with the apology and “substantial” charitable donation, the lawsuit has been settled. In her own statement, Katie said:

“I’m pleased that this lawsuit could be resolved amicably and accept American Media’s apology.”

Don’t blame you one bit, Katie. Star always goes too far and it always seems like they’re pulling headlines out of nowhere. Get em’!
