Happy Royal Wedding Day!! After a fairytale ceremony at the Westminster Abbey, Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, headed to the lavish Royal Wedding reception at the Buckingham Palace, where they celebrated their big day with 600 guests.

Time for the Royal Wedding Cakes! William and Kate opted to have a traditional multi-tiered fruitcake with cream and white piping designed by British baker Fiona Cairns.

“Catherine wanted a traditional wedding cake with a modern twist,” Cairns told Us Weekly. “We’ve used Catherine’s list of the ‘language of flowers. The ‘language of flowers’ is something that was used in Victorian times to express, in a coded way, emotions that couldn’t easily or openly be expressed in words but [could be] conveyed in flowers. So all the flowers have meanings.”

No doubt the eight tiers cake is a work of art. However, Prince William had only one request. He LOVES chocolate cakes, so he wanted a big one for his wedding reception. McVitie’s Cake Company created a chocolate biscuit cake using a Royal Family recipe (pic below). It looks delicious!!
