British romantic comedy actor Hugh Grant was reportedly in talks to replace Charlie Sheen on CBS‘s Two and a Half Men, being offered $1 million an episode, but has backed out due to creative differences.
Following Sheen’s mental breakdown of the century, Warner Bros and CBS had said they were pursuing “an A-lister.” Well, Grant would’ve certainly been a good choice, and let’s face it: he hasn’t had a hit in who knows how long? His last film Did You Hear About the Morgans? wasn’t exactly a blockbuster.
The show’s creator Chuck Lorre said he wants to move forward and continue the show “if he can find the right actor and get excited about that.” Also, considering the problems he had with Sheen, a source says it’s important that they find someone ”somebody Chuck can work with.”
