After months of speculation, New Jersey Nets star Kris Humphries finally proposed to his girlfriend, reality star Kim Kardashian, and the two are happily engaged. Kim and Kris have been dating for more than six months, but Kim did not expect Kris to pop the question so soon.
“I didn’t expect this at all,” Kim tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview. “I was in such shock. I never thought it would happen at home, and I never thought now.”
The 26 year-old surprised Kim when she returned home to find him waiting in her bedroom on a bended knee with a custom-designed 20.5-carat diamond ring by Lorraine Schwartz (more details HERE) and the words “Will You Marry Me?” written in rose petals on the floor.
Kris is a hopelessly romantic guy. After the proposal, the lovebirds had an intimate family celebration, which was planned by the future bride’s mother, Kris Jenner.
“Kris really didn’t want a big celebration, but he had jokingly told my mom he’d be fine if there were mini-horses there,” says Kim with a laugh. “Later that night at the party, my mom brought out two mini-horses, covered in glitter, for us! It was hysterical!”
Kim did not reveal if the two had set a date yet, but she re-confirmed the news on her official blog. She wrote, “OMGGGGGGG!!!!!!!! It’s true! I couldn’t be happier! Thank you guys for all of the sweet messages!!! I finally found my missing puzzle piece, I’m complete!”
Congratulations to Kim and Kris!!
