Singer Whitney Houston, 47, has entered an out-patient rehabilitation treatment program for substance abuse, which she has famously struggled with in the past.

In a statement, her rep said:

“Whitney Houston is currently in an out-patient rehab program for drug and alcohol treatment. Whitney voluntarily entered the program to support her long-standing recovery process.”

The singer initially entered rehab in 2004, telling Diane Sawyer in an interview:

“I partied a lot. Trust me: I partied my tail off. You get to a point where you know the party’s over.”

She then received treatment again in 2005 with the help of her mother, Cissy Houston.

After five years with the show and weeks of speculation, Meredith Vieira, 57, announced on-air she’ll be leaving the Today Show next month. She will be succeeded by the show’s 14-year veteran, Ann Curry.

“This is a difficult day for me. I’m trying hard to hold it together,”

Her co-host Matt Lauer said that her last day will be “in a few weeks.”

Meredith went on to say that she had made her decision after a lot of ”personal reflection and private conversation with friends.” She also said she wants to spend more time with her husband, who has been diagnosed multiple sclerosis, and her three children.

Last fall, Meredith opened up to Ladies’ Home Journal, discussing her thoughts on leaving the show:

“I’ll know when it’s time to go, and I’m not afraid to go. … If I were to leave the show at the end of next year because it’s time for me, I wouldn’t jump into another show. I would look forward to not working, to traveling with Richard and carving out time for us.”

She’s a great anchor and a trusted news source. We’ll miss you, Meredith!

Supermom, Tina Fey will be spending her Mother’s Day like millions of other moms around the country: eating a delicious home-cooked breakfast in bed and enjoying a nice, long Real Housewives of New York marathon on TV – with her family of course.

The five-months-pregnant Fey, joked with The Today Show that she recently allowed five-year-old daughter Alice, to watch an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills with her and was forced to explain to her that,

This is a show about women who think they are princesses, but they’re not!  And look!  They put goo in their face!

Fey, who hosted last night’s episode of Saturday Night Live, also joked that because she’s allowed her daughter to watch The Real Housewives, when Alice plays with her Barbie Dolls, she insists that the “most romantic part of the body is the butt”.

Notorious rabbelrouser, Jenelle Evans finally caught a break on Friday, when the charges against her of breaking and entering, injury to real property, second-degree trespassing and harassing phone calls, were dropped.

According to Evans’ attorney Dustin Sullivan, the prosecution was attempting to have the case continued, yet again, but Judge Napoleon Barefoot (What!?) declined as ”it had been continued twice prior… The state has yet to present a witness.”

Evans will appear in court again on May 24th to face counts of simple affray and simple assault.  The charges stem from an on-camera drop-down-drag-out brawl with ex-friend Brittany Truett.  The 19-year-old Teen Mom is hopeful that these charges too will be dropped, in light of ex-friend, Brittany Maggard confessing to intentionally instigating the fight.

Maybe things are finally looking up for Evans, who, according to her attorney, completed her court mandated community service and passed her most recent round of drug tests.

Jenelle [Evans] has not tested positive [for drugs or alcohol] and she has met with her probation officer twice…She has done extremely well with probation — doing everything required of her.”

Because it is Mother’s Day and all, I’m going to wish Jenelle the best.  Maybe the girl’s serious about turning over a new leaf this time.  For Jace’s sake, I hope I’m right.

Pippa Middleton may not be Catherine Middleton‘s lady in waiting but rumor has it that she will be  coming to America with her sister and brother in law Prince William. A so called family friend is stating that Catherine asked Pippa to be her personal assistant during the trip. According to the friend, Pippa has seemed to accept the offer.

I love the fact that they are so close! I am sure Catherine could use a close friend to help make this trip a bit more easy. It also seems that Pippa has been dubbed a celebrity in her own right now. So I am sure we will be hearing about her if this rumor is true.

Yet another Real Housewife home may be headed for the auction block; this time it’s Peggy Tanous’, the newest Real Housewife of Orange County.  The stay-at-home, mother of two, is filing disputes with three separate banks in order to keep her home in Irvine, CA.

According to BAC Home Loans Servicing, U.S. Bank National and PNC Mortgage, the Tanous have fallen behind on both mortgage and property tax payments for the 1.3 million dollar home they bought in 2006.  However, the 41-year-old model claims she and her husband Micah have already address this issue and filed for a “loan modification” agreement with each bank that they are now refusing to honor.  The Tanous are so determined to keep their home and lavish Orange County lifestyle that they’ve filed a lawsuit against BAC, PNC and U.S. Bank National, which reads,

(Tanous) is determined to keep the property. It is her family’s home, and she does not want to lose the Property in a foreclosure sale.

Doesn’t sound like that strong of an arguement to me, but if money’s tight, maybe they had to scrimp on their representation.

Of course we’d all hate to see this family lose their home, but it’s a bit hard to sympathize with a woman who recently paid thousands of dollars for augmentative breast surgery, so she would, “look damn good in a bathing suit”.

British import Robert Pattinson  says that he pretended to be friends or related to Prince William at first. Robert claims that if you are British and come to America, it is easy to convince people that you know, are related or friends with the royal family. Here is Robert’s quote that he told The Graham Norton Show.

 When I first came [to the U.S.], it was very easy to convince people that you’re a member of the royal family — or it least that you kind of know people – the first time that you go out in LA ….You know, I hadn’t worked for three years – I was unemployed in London…[People would ask] ‘What have you been doing for the last three years? Oh, I’ve been at RADA [Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts] with Prince William.’ And they’d go, ‘Oh, that sounds wonderful! You’re English – I completely believe you!

I have to say that I find that so funny of him. Sure it was tacky, but I doubt he believed he could have fooled people. I think that is all more the reason why so many people do like Robert.

Kate Middleton has a new life now as the Duchess of Cambridge, but many are wondering who will be Kate’s lady in waiting? It is a tradition for all future queens to have one, and Kate is no exception. Since the wedding was announced, rumors have floated that her sister Pippa Middleton will be her lady in waiting. However, according to the spokesperson for the royal couple, this is not true.

Nick Loughran says that Kate has not brought in any new staff as of yet. She is currently using the ones that her husband (Prince William)  and brother in law (Prince Harry) use.  Also, according to Mr. Loughran nobody has been selected for the role as of yet. These rumors are apparently started over the fact that Princess Diana had her sister as a lady in waiting. However, she did not get one until a few years later in her marriage.

I am not sure if Kate will be having one as far as she can. She buys her own groceries, so that is pretty down to earth as you can get. What do you think about her not having a lady in waiting yet?
