This was a great way to kick off the show. We missed most of the past contestants (not you Jacob Lusk! I kid). GaGa would be proud! The kids are talented and they were all born this way. Thia Megia looked more comfortable than ever on stage and Pia Toscano’s dress was way too short. Who cares? Loved IT.

At the beginning of the night, Ryan Seacrest announced they received 122 million votes, which would have not been possible with the brand new online voting system. When Ryan finally asked to dim the lights to announce the winner, both Scotty and Lauren Alaina seemed pretty calm. They reacted naturally when Ryan said Scotty became the new American Idol.

“Man, it’s been a year since me and Lauren Alaina tried out,” Scotty says. “We’ve been together since day one, and we’re going to stay together.”

Lauren seemed to be genuinely happy as she hugged and kissed Scotty. She kissed him on the lips and kissed his face all over. Lauren and Scotty became really good friends. Scotty was forced to perform his coronation song “Love You This Big” – he hugged everybody, said he loved everybody and ate some confetti!

Real Housewife of Beverly Hills, Taylor Armstrong, is fighting eating disorder rumors, sparked over her increasingly shrinking frame.  Many have speculated that the housewife’s troubled marriage has lead to her dramatic weightloss, but in an interview with OK! Magazine, Armstrong insists that the rumors are,

Absolutely not true.  My husband, Russell, and I are together and in love and happier than ever. But I do want to tell OK! exactly what did happened. I decided I needed to drop a few pounds, but I went to unhealthy extremes.

Armstrong’s confession comes on the heels of a fellow housewife’s admission to a lifelong eating disorder.  Real Housewife of Orange Country, Alexis Bellino, recently opened up about her 20 year battle with bulemia.

According to Armstrong, she new she’d crossed a threshold from healthy dieting to dangerous eating behavior when her husband finally pulled her aside to discuss her warped body image.

It was Russell who got me to admit the truth. He saw I wasn’t eating much and that I was too thin. I wasn’t weighing myself or taking my measurements, but when he said it I knew he was right.

I hate to side with Russell, because he makes every bone in my body feel awkward and uncomfortable, but the guys right.  Do yourself a favor, Taylor – eat a cheeseburger.

Amber Portwood’s baby daddy, Gary Shirley, was arrested early yesterday morning for driving with a suspended license.  According to the police officer who arrested Shirley,

I observed a Silver Dodge stopped on the south side of Berry street. I could hear a female arguing with a male inside the vehicle… I asked the male sitting in the driver seat if everything was ok and he advised yes.  The female advised that everything was fine.  I advised them that I had heard them arguing and wanted to make sure.  I asked the both for identification…The male introduced himself and the female as Gary Shirley and Amber Portwood from ‘Teen Mom’

Shirley and Portwood said everything was fine?  Take one look at those two and you can see that’s not true.  And did I read this right?  Shirley tried to sweet talk his way out of a ticket by dropping the Teen Mom line?  Who does he think he is?

The arresting officer also made this closing statement, which is downright perfect…

I placed Mr. Shirley in two (2) sets of handcuffs due to his size.  Both sets of handcuffs were checked for tightness and doubled locked…

Move over Teen Mom and 16 & Pregnant!  MTV has ordered up a new docudrama about young married couples, following them from the “I do’s” through the their first year of marriage.  Married Young will focus on the difficulties of early married life from sharing household expenses to family planning… sounds riveting.

MTV searched across the country to find the perfect couples between 18 and 25 to follow for their pilot episode – even going so far as to post casting calls on Facebook.

Oprah wanted to be left alone with her fans at her studio to thank them for 25 years (4,561) days of The Oprah Winfrey Show on Wednesday (May 25)- watch video below. Oprah delivered an emotional speech and refused to say goodbye, saying the end was “all sweet, no bitter”.

Who Won The 2011 Biggest Loser Season 11? New York opera singer, Olivia Ward, who initially tipped the scares at 261 pounds, lost half her weight (129 lbs) and took home the title of the Biggest Loser, a $250,000 prize and a healthy new life.

The 35 year-old competed on the show with her sister, Hannah Curlee, who also lost 100 lbs to the final weight of 128 lbs, because she was worried about her health. Olivia was particularly scared when her doctor told her she would not be able to bear children if she didn’t dramatically change her life.

What brought you to The Biggest Loser?
Olivia: I like to control things in my life, but for me, food was the one area of my life where I could be out of control. Then last summer, I turned 35, and I started to panic. I felt like I had wasted all these years being overweight. I decided I did not want to live another day in that body. That’s when I reached out to The Biggest Loser.

Hannah: I was a college athlete, and all these people had such high hopes for me. [After I gained weight] if I saw someone from my past, I would duck into bathrooms. I was just in a funk. I thought, “I’m never going to have kids because no one is going to want to marry me.” It was just a vat of self-pity.

Actor Christopher Meloni is reportedly leaving NBC’s police drama “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” after 12 seasons. The 50 year-old, best known as Detective Elliot Stabler, has been on the show for twelve glorious years since it began back in 1999.

Apparently the actor was negotiating a new contract, but they have not reached a deal and he took the difficult decision to not return for the 13th season.

This is the end of an era on “Law & Order: SVU” as actress Mariska Hargitay, who plays Detective Olivia Benson, is also said to have only signed for the first 13 episodes of the new season.

We have no information about Detective Stabbler’s fate, but Detective Benson is finally getting promoted, and actress Jennifer Love Hewitt is set to replace her on the show.
